ironically I don't think he has done a hammy, it has been shoulders and quad/groin strains... but yeah it does speak to an imbalance in his physical development which some of those outside backs have early on.

This is gold. I have several takeaways from the game, none of which I’ve brought up yet. We seem to get distracted by meaningless crap sometimes. Petaia is definitely worth a discussion but as you point out hardly a focal point from last night.

Um, we're not some sort of Rugby ICAC. The suggestion that a player might be trying supplements (plenty do) or something else in their conditioning programmes is hardly defamatory.
And nobody said he was a drug cheat.
It might be plain wrong, and personally I think Petaia might just be a bit underdone after some injuries. I don't agree with the suggestion that his issue last night was anything other than bad cramping, which can just happen.

We really didn’t deal with Kerevi going down. I assume one of the wingers (or maybe Hodge) was meant to go off for Wright while JOC (James O'Connor) came on for QC (Quade Cooper). Rennie with one eye on the RC probably started the subs 5 to 10 minutes too early. Credit to the Argies for fighting when we were disjointed with the changes.

In relation to last nights game Petaia’s performance may not justify the volume of post. However in relation to the future look of the Wallabies team it does justify discussion. Fullback is an issue in the Wallaby backline Banks didn’t set the world on fire before he was injured and Hodge is only serviceable so a very open position and there has been a bit of push for Petaia to be given a go. Before I get jumped on I don’t know who is campaigning for him and how much he is involved personally. All I know is that there is a school of thought Petaia should be given a go at Fullback. So to have some discussion around the most open position in the backline and a player keen for it is appropriate.
My thoughts on the matter are Petaia to fullback is a Brad Thorn decision and let’s pass judgement at the end of Super Rugby 2022.

Would have been good to see JOC (James O'Connor) come into 12 and play alongside Quade. This is a more likely scenario down the road.
