Can only be Moore and Mafu as they are in Christchurch and they have only 5 front rowers there. Slipper has blonde hair and Saia has obvious dreadlocks. Daley is playing club footy on Gold Coast

Wrong thread I know but Gordon havent featured in any TV game this year. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing :)

The jerseys look like a test pattern, and the ABC are worried the older part of the demographic would think it's station close time and switch to SBS.

Bloody NZ news just on Sky are reporting that Ron Horne has been dropped.

What piss poor journalism, you would think they could get the basic information right, what did they do look at the team sheet and just assume he got chopped. Perhaps somebody should suggest they visit us here so we can give them the correct facts including those on the Mcaw is a cheat thread.

They must be trying to copy Fuxed Sports, but they'll have a ways to go to catch up on the error count.

Well 'n' and 'b' are right next to each other on the keyboard and could've been a mix up for the tele-prompter.

The least of your worries Gnostic...

Haha I don't think it was the "Ron" bit, more that they said he was dropped, not the fact he is injured and out for the season.

I thought the same thing about Souths last season, mate.

We have featured a bit more heavily this season due to our good form this season.

It's been a nice change to watch other teams as opposed to Sydney Uni every weekend.

Uni do play some pretty good footy; see Manly vs Uni TV game this year. Very entertaining stuff.

Randwick should be shown every week. Everyone wants to watch the Wicks.

I have a soft spot for Randwick having lived within walking distance from Coogee Oval when I was a kid.

Barely remember though having moved to Southern Districts territory when I was a toddler.

Very much a Souths fan though.

I grew up watching Randwick on the telly (though not supporting them, Uni were always my team) and marvelling at how good their 15 man footy was. Great times.

Can someone remind me of what the Wallabies' record is under Kaplan? Can't find it.

Really looking forward to this game. Probably more than the Etihad clash. Being outdoors, on a freezing cold CHCH night will add its own atmosphere. Equally, the ABs can wrap up both the Bledisloe Cup and the 3N with a commanding win tomorrow night.

The score tomorrow should be much closer. I expect no more than a 10 point margin. If for no other reason than the temperature will be zero degrees or less, a strong southerly will be blowing straight off the Antarctic, and it will be snowing to 200 metres and potentially lower.

I think the Wallabies will have had a week of self reflection and soul searching, and will be absolutely fired up. If they can improve their restarts and discipline, they will be in with a much better chance of victory. Moreover, their efforts with 14 man for over 40 minutes of rugby will have given them a degree of confidence.

I think as always for 3N tests this match will be won and lost at the breakdown. And this is why I think the ABs should still win comfortably, even if the margin is much closer. From 1-22 the ABs are a better unit at the breakdown. And notwithstanding Poccock's great work at the ruck, the ABs backrow is still vastly superior.

I think the weather will play a massive role. With such appalling conditions forecast I think this game will be forward dominated, and I can't see the relatively inexperienced Wallaby pack being able to match their AB counterparts. We should see more scrums, which should suit the ABs.

I also think kicking will play a bigger role in this test than any of the 3N tests so far in 2010, and I can't see Giteau and Genia matching Carter and Weepu in this facet.

very interesting aspect I had overlooked:

SYDNEY — Three indigenous players will create a rugby milestone when they turn out for the Wallabies against New Zealand this weekend, the Australian Rugby Union said on Friday.

Fullback Kurtley Beale, centre Anthony Fainga'a and his twin brother, hooker Saia Fainga'a, have been named in the starting 15 for the Tri-Nations' Test against the All Blacks in Christchurch on Saturday.

A fourth indigenous player, flanker Matt Hodgson, has been selected among the reserves.

It will be a record indigenous representation in an Australian national rugby team.

The three Ella brothers -- twins Mark and Glen, and their younger sibling Gary -- all played at international level in the 1980s, along with former schoolmate Lloyd Walker, but only two of the quartet ever played together in the same Test, the ARU said.

"This is a first," Gary Ella said in a statement.

"It?s a great achievement for the individuals involved and it?s a great achievement for aboriginal people who will be watching this Test with great interest.

"To have three players with indigenous heritage in the starting team, four in the squad, and an aboriginal in Jim Williams on the coaching staff, it?s big news.

"I know the Ella family is very excited, and so is Lloyd McDermott, the first Aboriginal Test player, who has also been a driving force behind the development of young aboriginal rugby players."

Anthony Fainga'a, starting a Test for the first time against the All Blacks, said he was proud to be involved in the milestone achievement for Australia's indigenous community.

"Saia and I are proud of our aboriginal bloodline on mum?s side of the family," he said.

"We?re also humbled to know the Ella brothers have taken time out to wish us the best for this Test, which means so much not only to us but our family."

Can we split the Shute Shield and Christchurch Bled into two threads? I know they're closely related, but... ;-)
