They ran out in playing kit only and were ready to stumble straight after the anthems

I think we will see a really negative game in Christchurch. Lots of penalties, lots of Aussie yellow cards, probably more YC's then tries. However I think we will see a really great effort from a Wallabies side, there are a lot of players who want to prove their wealth in the team, Fainga'a, Simmons, Robinson is due to return to form. Genia doesn't really like the idea of two shitty games in a row, and Pocock just wants to roll these All Blacks.

Deans knows there is a lot of public pressure towards him and there is a descending opinion about him. Too many he was the World's best Rugby coach two years ago. Two years ago was the last time the Wallabies beat the All Blacks by 15 points, in a day where everyone thought the Wallabies were simply on top of the world (Greg Growden did at least), Robbie Deans has probably gotten over that too. We are going to see a lot of passion this week in Christchurch, and I for one can't wait.

Sadly I know Australia are going to lose by quite a lot but when these players come back from injury towards the end of the Tri-Nations (Hynes, Chambers etc; ) we are going to see a whole new game face for the Wallabies.

i have a way to get australian rugby back on track. it solves three things.
1.passion
2.media coverage
3.crowd numbers

how, easy, the HAKA in christchurch.
what? you say,
i said the HAKA in christchurch followed by Rocky having a holiday for the rest of the year to refresh for the world cup, WHAT? you exclaim again, why is Rocky on holiday when the aussies need him, cos he becomes the first player to be sent off before a game has started.

plan, The kiwis start the Haka and the aussies line up opposite with Rocky standing slightly infront of them, he is a leader and the men should form a wall behind him as he leads them, he has the shoulders to carry them, about 5 seconds into the HAKA rocky walks forwards and king hits Richie Mccaw, problem solved.

sure we may lose the game, but the all blacks would be so put off that all the aussies have to do is niggle (something all australians are good at anyway) and were bound to even the numbers up pretty soon. This should lead to an increase in passion fromt he boys ont he field.

media coverage will be so intense, questions will be asked from sporting reporters to moral guides to politions, should Rocky represent australia, to this robbie deans should say, FARK YESS!!!

then comes crowd numbers, as if your not going to go to sydney to see a fight, hey, you get 30 seconds of danny green, at least the wallabies have to go for 80.

Yeah, except of course that this type of shit gets you a life ban...are you really prepared to sacrifice Rock? Would he be? If anyone, you'd go Salesi Ma'afu wouldn't you? The beef to do it, and not of high value to the side.
However, I think you're missing the critical hit it would give Aus rugby and the Wallaby brand - yes, brand - nationally and internationally. What we need is some sneaky mutha****** leaving Richie's head looking like...well, like Phil Waugh's after a game. It's a legal 'grey area', but by making them hurt, making them bleed for the ball we show that hard stuff without being the disgusting lowlife cheats without a captain that your plan would. In other words, UP AND HIT THEM.

Definitely Cat near side, albeit touch longer fungus than usual. I'd say Disco's right about it being Daley at THP but no idea who the blonde hooker is. Some skinny bugger at 8, too, and I hope locks crouch more for engagement or they'll teach those kids some horrible habits.

Just do what the Scots did to the Wobs last years spring tour: set off the fire alarm at the AB's hotel at ooooooh about 2.30, 3.30 and then 5 oclock the morning of the game.

Thank goodness it's not the Sydney University v West Harbour game.

I am fed up of seeing Uni on tv and winning the Shute Shield all the time.

It's become beyond a joke in recent years.

Twins Anthony and Saia Fainga'a have crowned their meteoric rise to international rugby with selection in the Wallabies' starting side for Saturday's Bledisloe Cup and Tri Nations Test against New Zealand in Christchurch.

The 23-year-old Fainga'a brothers will become the first twins to play a Test together for the Wallabies since Mark and Glen Ella helped Australia to a 29-7 victory over Italy in Rovigo in 1983.

Anthony Fainga'a replaces Berrick Barnes at inside centre, while Saia will start at hooker instead of Stephen Moore.

Barnes and Moore have both been relegated to the bench as the Wallabies try to break an eight-match losing streak against the All Blacks with a first Test triumph in New Zealand since 2001.

All up, coach Robbie Deans has made three personnel changes and one positional switch to his side which lost 49-28 to the All Blacks last Saturday in Melbourne.

Kurtley Beale will start at fullback, with Adam Ashley-Cooper moving to outside centre to replace Rob Horne, who suffered a season-ending elbow fracture at Etihad Stadium.

Winger Cameron Shepherd, who makes his return to the Test arena after last appearing against France at Brisbane in 2008, was also named on the bench on Thursday.

Drew Mitchell has retained his place on the wing despite last Saturday becoming the first Australian in 33 years to be sent off in a Test match, a decision which the IRB on Wednesday all but conceded should not have been made.

The versatile Ashley-Cooper, set for his 43rd Test, has featured at outside centre on four occasions for the Wallabies during Deans's two-year tenure, including three times in 2009.

His most recent outing in the No.13 jumper came during last year's Test against the All Blacks in Wellington.

The Fainga'a twins last weekend came off the bench to become the 40th set of brothers and the third twins to appear in Test matches for Australia.

Australia must win on Saturday to prevent New Zealand from retaining the Bledisloe Cup for an eighth straight year with a record ninth successive victory over the Wallabies.

The All Blacks can also win back the Tri Nations trophy from South Africa with victory at AMI Stadium.

* 15. Kurtley Beale (NSW Waratahs).
* 14. James O'Connor (Western Force).
* 13. Adam Ashley-Cooper (ACT Brumbies).
* 12. Anthony Fainga'a (Queensland Reds).
* 11. Drew Mitchell (NSW Waratahs).
* 10. Matt Giteau (ACT Brumbies).
* 9. Will Genia (Queensland Reds).
* 8. Richard Brown (Western Force).
* 7. David Pocock (Western Force).
* 6. Rocky Elsom (ACT Brumbies).
* 5. Nathan Sharpe (Western Force).
* 4. Dean Mumm (NSW Waratahs).
* 3. Salesi Ma'afu (ACT Brumbies).
* 2. Saia Fainga'a (Queensland Reds).
* 1. Benn Robinson (NSW Waratahs).
* Reserve hooker: Stephen Moore (ACT Brumbies).
* Reserve prop: James Slipper (Queensland Reds).
* Reserve second-row: Rob Simmons (Queensland Reds).
* Reserve backrow: Matt Hodgson (Western Force).
* Reserve halfback: Luke Burgess (NSW Waratahs).
* Reserve inside back: Berrick Barnes (NSW Waratahs).
* Reserve outside back: Cameron Shepherd (Western Force).
TBH only thing I would have done differently (with this current squad) is drop Brown for Hodgo. If we lose again, I expect the poorer of Mumm and Sharpe to go, but RD has one serious hardon for Dick.

Bloody NZ news just on Sky are reporting that Ron Horne has been dropped.

What piss poor journalism, you would think they could get the basic information right, what did they do look at the team sheet and just assume he got chopped. Perhaps somebody should suggest they visit us here so we can give them the correct facts including those on the Mcaw is a cheat thread.

Cause you know, they've featured so heavily this year...

I'm not just talking about this year, I am talking about previous years as well.

Everytime I sit down to watch the rugby at 3pm on a Saturday, I keep thinking I hope it's not Uni again.

The only reason Souths have been getting TV games this season is because we've been winning this year.

You'd have to feel sorry for the Parramatta and Penrith fans on here who hardly get to see their team on TV at all.

There's a crazy thought! I actually think that they ought to have it on...not a rotational basis, but a more evenly shared basis. The Uni slack has just been taken by Wicks, Rats et al this year. I would genuinely like to see Parra and Penrith from time to time, etc. Gordon and Wests certainly get more airtime than Penrith and have only won the same number of games. The Pirates are my second team but c'mon, Grandstand, pull the finger out. Now, perhaps we could get back to the topic at hand?

I agree with everything you have said, mate.

Well 'n' and 'b' are right next to each other on the keyboard and could've been a mix up for the tele-prompter.

The least of your worries Gnostic...
