Horne struggled for the Wallabies to get any ball, but then so did AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper).

Most Penetrative? nah, bloody good though, but what he also is a wonderfully aggressive defender, which is something we have lacked on the back end of the test series IMHO.

Better than Chambers? dunno

Better the AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)? dunno,

Chambers is bloody good and has had far greater physical development than Horne with his time in pro rugby with the Storm giving him a serious physical background and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) is a damn fine footballer as well. Plus we have the smokey of Inman and the the great Mortlock.

It is one of the places we actually have some decent depth

Which is most likely why a lot of people are suggesting that one of the OC's convert to IC and another (AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper)) could be better on the wing.

Wasn't Horne a specialist 12 in his schoolboy days?

I wouldn't mind seeing a 12 Horne 13 Cross partnership next season for the Waratahs.

Wasn't Horne a specialist 12 in his schoolboy days?

I wouldn't mind seeing a 12 Horne 13 Cross partnership next season for the Waratahs.

In U/16s he played 13 for NSW, but moved to 12 for NSW Schools for the next two years so that he and Kellam one year, and he and Mitchell another, could all be on the park starting. For Oz Schools in his final year he played 13 with Tapuai at 12. It was a marvellous schoolboy pairing.

Horne played well at 12 as I post 3 or 4 times a year, and we saw his ball playing and even the odd tactical kick from him, but a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then. It would be a brave coach who played him at 12 forgoing his straight running at speed out wider, and getting him into closer to the traffic instead.

As far as I know he has played only one game at 12 since he left school, this year for SD at Manly Oval. I'd like to see him trial at inside centre for a quarter or two or at least at the end of a S15 game that is well won already. Who knows though? The lad has talent and nothing good he did in any position would surprise me a lot.
