It's a 1 year (or technically 9 month) contract and the season starts next weekend - there's not much time for him to wait around.Yeah I know, I'm just saying he might not be clear to play straight away.
Asia Cup is the closest we have to the Euro's which is a 4 year competition run.I'm by no means a soccer fan but does Australia really play any meaningful matches outside the world cup and its qualifiers? I feel like rugby tests have so much more importance.

Feels like league forwards struggle with the pace of the game too, often walking between tackles, sets, kicks etc. Definitely doesn't show on TV as the cameras are just following the ball, but probably much easier to take a break as the first three or four tackles of a set are pretty predictable, no wonder hookers wind up racking up close to 50 tackles.Willing to give the Kangaroos 5 years to learn technique and put on weight?
A scrum is a unique event in Rugby and doesn't really prove any toughness. Wallabies had a camp chair for a scrum for years but I don't think they're soft. I don't think same BOK pack wouldn't last a half of constantly doing shuttle runs backwards and making 30+ tackles.
If it kicked off in a bar I know which group I'd rather stand behind (and walk out the door)
I agree. Although I think if a Rugby side came and wanted Gordon and he was willing to walk away from the Titans I think they would take it. An instant cap spot and space.
More pertinent, how do the Saffas handle it?Regarding the Skelton / Reg 9 issue I'm interested to know how FIFA handles it. They would be dealing with more powerful clubs / owners.
I think only Jean-Luc du Preez (Bordeaux Begles) and Boan Venter (Edinborough) play in France or UK, the rest are home based or Japan who seem to be far more understandingMore pertinent, how do the Saffas handle it?
Are the Japanese more understanding? I recall issues in the past with QC (Quade Cooper) and Kerevi in particular.I think only Jean-Luc du Preez (Bordeaux Begles) and Boan Venter (Edinborough) play in France or UK, the rest are home based or Japan who seem to be far more understanding
That is good to hear re pursuing more options in phase play and taking risks.Interesting
How classy from Donaldson. Could have talked himself up but spoke positively about team mates he is competing with for the same position.Interesting
Tahs vs force graphic just looks plain incorrect - https://westernforce.rugby/news/forces-2025-super-rugby-aus-schedule-revealed-2025825 article says it’s 12th of SeptemberAm I missing something here? Is one of these in a different time zone, perhaps?View attachment 23291
Stan has the wrong time/day for the tahs v Force I think, it's listed as being on the night of the 12th (Friday) elsewhere:Am I missing something here? Is one of these in a different time zone, perhaps?View attachment 23291
Yes RR, he spoke well and very positively. The Wallabies are in a good place thanks to Joe. I've always thought Ben has shown more skill than the others but I guess not consistently enough in the coaches eyes to be given a starting gig for an extended time. I'm sure his time will come. How classy from Donaldson. Could have talked himself up but spoke positively about team mates he is competing with for the same position.
Hopefully he gets a chance for someone to back him like Joe has with Tom and Noah.
