I'm by no means a soccer fan but does Australia really play any meaningful matches outside the world cup and its qualifiers? I feel like rugby tests have so much more importance.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying he might not be clear to play straight away.

It's a 1 year (or technically 9 month) contract and the season starts next weekend - there's not much time for him to wait around.

I was talking about coming in for the EOYT though, I don't think there's much capacity for him to come into the wallabies setup before then, he'll want to put in some initial time with Perpignan and get his head back in the game.

Asia Cup is the closest we have to the Euro's which is a 4 year competition run.
