Wallabies 2025

Apparently there's a bit of a deadline within a week or so of the new coach announcement for a lot of the offers out there, because RA need to know if they have to move onto to securing the next guy. Expect a fair bit of contracting movement to come out by early April.

Dolly hasn't shown anything this season that indicates he's Wallabies material.

That's fair, but I think Dolly is competing for that 4th hooker spot in the wider squad.

I'd imagine it's Fez and BPA as 1 & 2 with Porecki being 3rd if he stays on the field this season.

I acknowledge I'm being biassed but I haven't had a chance to watch much of the Brumbies to see Pollard. But Lonergan just seems too under sized and ineffectual around the park when I've seen him play

I think Pollard has the no.2 spot at the moment. He's looking bigger and showing the ability to move and go through half gaps he was on the way through the system. Not surprising given hes 23 now and going to be entering his prime. I think some people still hold a view on him as the 21 year old thrown out in Arg on debut for the Wallabies.

Pollard is great. Genuinely pinballing around the field. I have to admit that, despite my former tight five credentials, I often neglect to watch the piggies do the dirty work and just see how they go in the big plays so have no idea who is best at scrum/LO.

I think BPA has looked really good for the force - has been doing a lot of the heavy lift. I would definitely give him the inside track on the number 2 spot for now based on his test experience.

Our coach, who won't sign for next year, not selecting contracted players who haven't signed for next year, so we put out a weaker team for one of the all-time critical Australian rugby series, would be one of the most Australian rugby things to have happened

It would be absolutely ridiculous to not select players for the Lions tests based on where they are playing next year.

There's no more important three game series that we play.

Brumbies beat the Blues scrum with both Pollard and Lonergan on. Pollard a lot more physical this year and making the sort of runs the top NZ hookers seem to do every game. I think he has found his playing weight and got his fitness to work with it. It seems like his confidence has grown as well through getting consistent starts.

He has that bit of freak in him. It's the violent runs we don't usually see from our hookers since TPN was able to rip some off at times. We're seeing now why NRL sides wanted him out of School. Those edge running lines and quick leg turnover.
