Wallabies 2025

I believe Eddie jones purposely came to aid the destruction/downfall of Australian rugby, in a time were desperate and eager win coming into a world cup. Did we need to get rid of David Rennie, i don't think so. David Rennie was only just finding his strides, were we winning every game? Not exactly. but they were coming close to the best teams in the world? A seriously poor decision from the rugby Australia board. On the note of wales, he will be the worst thing for them, seeing what he did to Aus rugby.
Plus Rennie had a full squad of 23 players out injured toward the end. I defy any coach, All Blacks included, that have 23 of their best players out to win big games.

Honestly Cotter as wobs HC is worth it just for the Dismal meltdown.

That article doesn't really have any new information aside from a coach potentially being announced in a week or so.

If that is true, I have a feeling it is O'Gara.

I am not sure RA would want to rock a Super Rugby campaign from week 1 by publicly announcing their coach is leaving at the end of the season.

Agree with that completely. It would really surprise me and seem brain dead to name one of the Super Rugby coaches right now. You'd wait until around mid year or the Lions. But brain dead has a corner office at RA HQ over the last 20 years so who knows.

Any disruptions do alter a season no matter how many catch phrases are rolled out. it's also unlikely that any of the Super Rugby HCs have anyone competition for there services currently but a guy like ROG could have plenty of cashed up Clubs reaching out.

Yeh I think RA are in some damage control now. A lot of casual fans and even hardcore fans are frustrated by JS moving on so quickly, just when we really need to kick things into the next gear and the team had been travelling well.

Why alienate the fanbase of a Super Rugby franchise as well just to make things worse. I don't think any of the teams particularly want to hear their head coaches name given the nod.

O'Gara's my pick as well.

It'd be sheer lunacy to upend a Super Rugby club's campaign from the first week to fill the national team role.

The Wallabies job needs to be sorted out quickly imho with the Lions coming and a RC campaign.

Any of the Super Rugby coaches are a Tah '24 injury list away from being sacked, or at least making RA look ridiculous if they have appointed that coach to the Wobs.

Agree if they are going early, it's probably someone outside the tent.

Looks like we can rule Jamie Joseph out:
But, after talking about the Super Rugby fixture for five or so minutes, the coach was asked about the Wallabies.

With Joe Schmidt opting not to stay on as head coach beyond The Rugby Championship, Rugby Australia has confirmed a replacement will be appointed at a later date. But Joseph won’t be the person to succeed Schmidt, with the 55-year-old making that clear with a six-word reply.

“No mate, no. I’m a Highlander,” Joseph told reporters on Friday.

....apart from when Japan paid him a shitload of money to coach the national side before Eddie. Maybe JJ should've said seven words, adding "now".
