Wallabies 2023

I would argue bringing in young 10s is a bit different though.

Donaldson and possibly in a few weeks Edmed aren't being brought along to make up the numbers at training. We have a current issue at flyhalf, and essentially a number of good young players lining up to take the spot over the next few years. I'd argue these 10s being brought in are very much on trial, see how they adapt and maybe even running at 10 a few times with the main squad.

Who knows, if Donaldson doesn't impress (and it seems Rennie has been placing some value on training performances) we might see the likes of Carter Gordon or another flyhalf given the same opportunity next year.
Hopefully Carter gets to go with the A squad to Japan, but currently his shown nothing that tells me he should be ahead of Donladson or Edmed, or even Creighton/Pasitoa...... Rebels where talent goes to die.

It's just opinions Tomikin and we both base them on what we see. Be interesting to see which if any of these youngsters turn out to be a good un.
I'm betting on Carter Gordon but Edmed is improving rapidly, which of the current uncapped 10's do you think will make it?
Very true about the Rebels, an alternative is that it is a talent holding spot where their value goes down prior to getting a gig OS.

We went through this over the weekend, he's not even playing club rugby atm. Maybe the Rebels tour of Japan is what he should be putting all his efforts into. If Carter is ever going to lead the wallabies its not going to be till after the lions series not remotely the RWC next year.

Agreed Stillmissit.
Opinions.
We are all just waffling on about our thoughts.
Lucky we are not coaches.

Carter? Yes he is. And playing well.

Why use is keeping JOC (James O'Connor) (James O'Connor) in the squad if he’s not going to be in the 23, he doesn’t need the squad experience.

And before you say well he could pass on his experience/professionalism to the young guys, maybe that’s the problem.
Isn't the Wallaby camp at Sanctuary Cove and James from IG seems to have a place down the coast? So he may as well train with the Wallabies to stay fit rather than up in Brisbane?

He should be running out for Brothers for their finals campaign and training with them

Is training for Prem's still two nights a week? So just drive up the M1 on a Tuesday and Thursday afternoon and hit up the McDonald's next to Crosby Park on the way home after training?

Well I was/am totally speculating, but the point was maybe Rennie doesn't want JOC (James O'Connor) "leading by (poor) example" of professionalism.

His recent form isn't good, I can't imagine he's preparing well.

Do you just follow him on Insta? Any idea why he was golfing and not playing?

Unsure, the rebels have been really inconstant of when & how players are being released to club rugby. Easts got up & about with Wilkin coming back & he hasn't even played a game! Eloff played prop the most min all season in the front row & the only break he has got since the end of the season is when he went home for 2 weeks to have his south african wedding

Most of the guys will be on individual plans. Young guys may not be playing because they are trying to pack muscle on them so they will be spending time in the gym rather than running in prep for next season. For others it may be experience or games that they need.

Maybe he needs to post more social media about 'manifesting' and 'life goals'

Seems to have convinced people that Quade has his shit together...

I think it probably is Edmed at the moment, with Lolesio and we will see who comes out the wood work after that..
