Wallabies 2021

Article today on the Fox Sports website talking about centralising rugby here, ala Ireland and NZ.
I'm interested to see how this plays out.

Using the articles example of Petaia being moved because of the Reds having Jock Campbell at 15. If say, they forced Jordan to say the Tahs or Force, what do the Reds get in return for losing a player they've invested time, money and resources in?

It'll definitely be intriguing to see what happens to Piccone and his players as RA would now dictate the terms rather than the usual agents like Piccone and Nassar.

I don’t think they could just put him in another franchise. Wright may prefer to play wing for the Brumbies rather than fullback for the Tahs.

it may be easier to facilitate a negotiation however.
Badly worded. Obviously it would have to work for everyone.

As RR says, there would have to be negotiations. If JP wanted to stay, they couldn’t make him move. I’m not too savvy with the business side of sports, but I’d imagine the agents would work directly with the ARU.

I think it'll be a part of new contracts and not applicable to any existing contract.

I think it will be applicable for that term they used around hoarding/warehousing I think it was.So not so much about playing out of position, but just playing! Example scenario: A specialist 15 in Jesse Mogg being a backup to banks when there is at least 2 franchises who desperately need 15's. (Maybe not his personal case but that style scenario)

Also think there would have to be
a) financial / player exchanges to really make the system work OR
b) at the least encourage player loans with the benefiting team covering the insurance/salary etc for that period.

The only thing that can work is a collaborative approach, although some kind of player draft would be worth looking at for new entrants.

What number Quade comeback is this, three? Four?

I like the bloke and he should be applauded for his service to the game here. Great to have around the guys, many of whom would have idolised him growing up.

But jeez I'd be worried if we had to play him at any stage.
This forum is chocked full of savvy, intelligent posters with a great feel for the game.

I like the Kiwi approach, the premise of a core group with the balance available to other the teams if they join their core is sensible and stops the soloing

In the end RA supplies the cash

Now if we can get some basic agreement on playing styles ..................

Presumably ongoing financial support from RA.

They wouldn't just move players willy nilly anyway. For one, the player would have to be willing.

You've got Leota twice there, I'd probably take Salakaia-Loto instead of one of them with an eye to seeing how he goes covering 4/5/6.

Otherwise I'd be taking either of Lonergan or Gordon before calling in Phipps or Meehan, the extra foreign spot would probably then go to Beale.

36 is really hard.

My attempt:

Hooker - Latu, Fainga'a, BPA
LHP - Bell, Sio, Robertson
THP - Tupou, AAA, Pone
Lock - Arnold, Skelton, Philip, Swain, LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)
BSF - Swinton, Leota
OSF - Hooper, Samu
N8 - Valetini, McMahon
SH - White, McDermott, Gordon
FH - JOC (James O'Connor), Quade, Loloesio
IC - Kerevi, Paisami
OC - Ikitau, Petaia
Wing - Kellaway, Koroibete, Wright, Daugunu
FB - Banks, Hodge

- I would rest Slipper. We may be able to get him to the RWC with management
- if Pone is unfit, I'd take Holmes
- would've liked to take Perese
