AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) there in a mentoring role or what?

I'd actually take JOC (James O'Connor) over him.

Don't see the point in Liam Wright. Edit: actually, yeah, without Poey or Samu it makes sense.

No Phipps is interesting. Glad to see Hanigan left out.

No Pocock is going to reduce the arguments around here, not the worst squad

No Nau, Cooper, Phipps & Hanigan will also reduce arguments

Beale’s a Classic Jekyll & Hyde.

At his best he is very good at unpicking defences in broken play.

At his worst he kills attack and gives all the advantage to the defending team.

Unfortunately he has displayed as much or more of his worst over the last 12 months.

Hey guys, I know we all love to froth and shout when a Wallaby squad is announced. But we've got a problem - this is a pretty good squad with no objectively poor choices.

Here are some suggested lines you can use to channel that outrage:

- Where's Raelene? She needs to be more visible in Wallaby announcements.
- The complete lack of Force players shows the disregard RA has for rugby in the west.
- Foley and Beale are proven non-performers and should have been kicked to the curb.
- Michael Hooper!?!? Come on guys, he shouldn't be in the squad, let alone captain.
- Tolu Latu and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) prove the Waratahs bias is still strong in this squad.

Or just got with the classic:

- Nice enough squad, but the All Blacks will hardly be quaking in their boots.

He’s had his moments at 15 since the Folau debacle began. He generally goes well against the Boks as well.
Looking forward to seeing Wright. He’s more or less guaranteed a spot in the 23 unless Dempsey is the backup 7.

I would have thought the squad was relatively controversy free.

There will always be some lucky inclusions and unlucky exclusions, but for the most part it is a group of the guys who are fit and performing best in their positions, with a couple of gambles taken on guys in key positions where the 2nd/3rd choice hasn’t banged the door down.

Out of all the omissions McCaffrey is possibly the most unlucky, but I don’t know he would have held his spot in the longer run anyway.
