Best (in the Selectors eyes) of this years State Champs announced… many also in the reckoning for various school association rep teams still

from my understanding players have to follow the rep pathway of their school so how are some of these players from GPS schools able to play in the sydney city teams?

There’s an MOU between Sydney/Country and the Schools on which is preferenced each year, with it alternating …. But there’s no clash until the NSW Schools Trials between SJRU, Country, NSW Schools I and NSW Schools II in mid July so kids can play both pathways til then

Wow different demographic to normal. Half from mid and far north coast. They have a strong year or the traditional strongholds falling away?

Would need lots of analysis; I think some Zones lost good players to School rugby? which is very typical for u16s up both city and country?

I guess so but Newcastle, Illawarra and Central West used to have good representation even just from clubs. I know Newcastle and Illawarra have changed their pathways.
Up the coast hasn’t usually fared that well.

The country teams by and large got smashed at the state comp That being said many of the best of them have already found their way into the big Sydney schools which continues to tip the balance towards the Sydney teams.

Be much better if they put schools alongside the zone/ district club. Anyone have enough knowledge to do that for the Sydney teams?

Ok, genuine question….. what’s better for the player and/or future Rugby Australia:
1. Making the best u16s play u16s and getting used to being dominant/enjoying success
2. Making the best u16s play up early and being less dominant/experiencing struggle
??

1. Angus "Mudgee Mud Crab" Littler for sure, Angus Littler, an exemplar of robust athleticism and strategic acumen, is poised to fortify the front row as a prop for Joeys in 2025. His imminent debut is anticipated to be a paragon of strength and tactical proficiency, heralding a new era for the team's scrummaging prowess.
2. Sam Jones, In the imminent rugby season of 2025, Sam Jones, a formidable second row, poised with resolute sagacity, shall spearhead the vanguard for Joeys, demonstrating a consummate fusion of athletic prowess and strategic acumen. His mettle on the field, undergirded by an erudite comprehension of the game's intricacies, promises to be a paragon of excellence, elevating the standards of rugby discourse to unprecedented heights.
3. Charlie "dead chat" Hicks, Charlie Hicks, the prodigious rugby flanker poised to debut for Joeys in 2025, epitomizes both tenacity and sagacity on the field, embodying the quintessence of a cerebral athlete. Despite his corporeal heft, his cerebral acumen and tactical astuteness make him a formidable force, poised to reshape the game's dynamic. And he has extremely dead chat!

Looking forward to this weekend's NSW Schools U16 Championships. Any predictions for the winner of the Shield Final? After watching the opens, if ISA and CCC have depth into the U16s they could shake things up.

The GPS backline looks scary. I think the only question is who do they beat in the final, CAS or ISA? Or GPS 2?

We are expecting dry conditions tomorrow, but cold and wet on Sunday. The boys have had plenty of matches in those cold/wet conditions with their schools. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

So does the forward pack! Especially with those two View representatives, that both play for their 1st XV. Any insight as to the amount of joeys boys in the Side, and their teams at joeys? Just curious, Cheers.
