How long have people complained that all they wanted was a gold jersey with green trim?

I'm happy with the new jersey, and I like that we seem to be keeping the indigenous one for "special" occasions. The win over the All Blacks last year will forever be associated with the one time that jersey was worn.

^^^^ I agree on both counts. I was wondering when someone would whinge about the new jersey which looks about as close to the classic gold only that we're ever going to get. I can understand the whingeing about the ones with the '6-packs' etc on them, but this one is fine.

Interesting they had both hooper and pocock in the jersey pictures. Pooper basically confirmed. Irish well into planning how to take advantage of that.

It doesn't mean that at all, they are both high profile players. Could be foxing ;-)

I think Hanigan's play this year has been better than it was last year. He's playing a more physical game and I think his accuracy at the breakdown has increased substantially.
I actually agree out of all the 6 at all oz teams I think his been the best..He probably wasn't ready last year but this year it's made him a much better player

I have yet to see any real difference from last year BH. I think the story of his improved physicality is taking on the flavour of an Urban Myth.

How many of the Tahs games have you watched?

Presumably your preferred 6 is still someone who is playing at lock and has either not played at 6 at all (Philip or has played one game there and struggled (Tui).

Philip can't make the Rebels starting XV at the moment. I think his current trajectory is to miss the June squad.

I do wonder how much Slipper is being "managed" physically at the moment and whether that will work in a test match format

ATM you'd have to say Slipper is the weak link in the front row equation, simply because of his injury status. Pity is that we are strong at THP but after Sio very weak at LHP. I also strongly believe that Allan Ala'alatoa has been the best performing THP this year, ahead of Tupou who has tremendous potential for further improvement. Kepu is third in order on form this year, but will most likely be the first picked. Perhaps, AAT can be persuaded to revert to the LH side for the tests?

Can confirm he is still bumping off rucks like a paper airplane from time to time. No one fit who is better though.

Having seen every Tahs game this year I also think its the new 'AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) can't pass' / 'Hooper isn't a 7' as well.

I haven't seen much improvement, and he still misses straightforward tackles and lacks impact at the ruck (often when impact is needed most).

Another season or two of Super Rugby and I think he could be test quality. He's not there yet IMO.

I reckon there are two likely backrows for the first test:

6. Hanigan
7. Hooper
8. Pocock

6. Pocock
7. Hooper
8. Timu

I think whichever of Hanigan and Timu doesn't start will be on the bench.

Read my posts BH. I acknowledge that Hanigan is our most likely No 6. All I'm saying is that I haven't noticed this legendary improvement in his physicality this year. He still doesn't break the line, and is more likely to be driven backwards when making a tackle. To answer your question, I have seen all but the SA game that the Tahs have played, including the poor effort all round against the Jaguares. I just can't raise the interest these days to watch the Saffa games in SA, unfortunately.
