Izzy is absolutely entitled to post whatever he wants, and noone at RA is telling him different, what they saying he not entitled to get paid a million a year from them if he does. See everyone has rights, Izzy to post whatever divisive religious nonsense he wants, and RA to pay the said person a huge salary while they think he not helping tp enhance the sport.

You're the one who doesn't get it. As Raelene has observed, this is about employment rights. RA can't just terminate a contract unless they are justified under law to do so. We still have laws governing employee rights in this country.

So the questions are:

Has Folau broken his contract with the post in question?

Is there a specific clause in his contract which deals with social media or are they relying on their code of conduct?

If they are relying on their code of conduct, is the post a breach?

If it is a breach, then is termination of his contract an appropriate penalty?

I thought most people have been pretty balance in this discussion so far given it can be an emotive topic for some, if you’re simply prodding and trying to provoke someone then memes are a good way to achieve it, doesn’t really offer anything to the discussion though.

It would also have been seen by the 300,000 people who read the Australian every day, and the 150,000 that listen to jones’ breakfast program
Enormous brand damage if you Ask me with a legitimate retail distribution (that is to say, not twitter)

I don’t want to lecture people with all the real Australia, silent majority et al, but it’s worth considering what people’s views are outside of the Sydney media hivemind and the corporate Australia cesspit of (wrongly) evangelising about your values to everyone

This column has been seen, liked and discussed by a significantly higher number of people than have read Peter Fitzsimons column, than anyone on Twitter or on here

Sorry just trying to inject a little humour. You’ll note I stopped posting several pages back as things are going round and round in circles.
I haven't seen a new slant or idea for days. I certainly don’t have any.

One thing that I have found odd is that RA seem to have given permission for just about everyone to have their say in the media fro Cheika down. Not sure if it helps their case or not. I'd have thought that the prudent thing to do with legal procedings underway would be to say that only Cameron Clyne and Ralene Castle are allowed to speak to the media about this.

Slipper two transgressions....after leading the charge for RUPA on the drug testing policy and re-signing for the Reds. You talk about the potential for QANTAS to walk away from RA over Izzy well St George threatened as much to the Reds over Slipper and Hunt. They tried to cut them, apparently, but RA wouldn't support.

But now that RA and NSW sponsors are under threat...it's a different story.

By the way, I can't remember the Digby thing either. I think there was an incident with Kurtley and a taxi?

^ IIRC Digby was present when a relative got into a fight with someone & he got involved. Copped a one week (?) suspension.

It is a nonsense policy to stand players down for mis behaviour - either fine them or add to their obligations by giving them 300 hours of community rugby service , say. That way the team is not let down and the player gets the message about his behaviour (imo)
