The reports I have been able to find from several authors all speak of confidential letter to the RA board, yet this is in the hands of reporters. Is this not a leak of the leaking?

If Folau's people are themselves "leaking" confidential information, that is a big breach by him/them. I suggest we get the AFP on to it, they need practice in raiding media outlets anyway.

in line with the context of my post, your issue is with social standards and not an individual CEO, there’s no need to discuss him the board he represents or the company he works for.

I doubt it would be an "official leak", in the minutes of the last meeting or in the Chair's diary. Many things have been leaked by officials to many journalists for many years. Will be in the future, perhaps depending on the outcomes of last week's AFP investigations and some significant law reforms being flagged. All for many varying reasons, from public interest, personal interest, vengeance, monetary gain..... the list goes on. Its not an organisational motivation but it is an organisational responsibility.​

God this is painful.

I know the vanilla flavour argument that this was simply and only about breach of employment conditions, but honestly this has been an issue brewing for a very long time as societal mores have shifted and “the church” become less respected. It was going to blow up somewhere.

Somewhere that was always going to be tested at the highest level possible on the basis of a belief that religious freedom is sacrosanct. Doesn’t matter whether you agree or not, nor whether you vehemently support the removal of IF on the employment contract terms, the issue was going to blow up somewhere.

For me, it is an extremely important topic that needs testing and I actually have some positive expectation in our legal system doing better than others presume. That system has often stepped in successfully in the movement of social norms and a political cohort that failed occasionally to address things via policy.

What I utterly detest is that the issue is proceeding under a banner of “rugby”.

For the life of me the very serious risk of this happening was writ large in neon from the outset.

RA/ARU have been leaking all manner of stories to favoured journalists for some time.

Should RA lose the unlawful termination part of the action then the public nature of some of the initial process would most likely count against them in terms of the damages part of the action.

I presume by what’s been said that he’s complaining that a confidential letter he sent them was leaked to the press.

I guess he expected confidential correspondence to be kept in confidence. If so he’s learnt a lesson.

I think it’s clear that the gloves are off. But let’s not pretend that RA are lilywhite in this matter.

Apart from the procession of coaches and players who were wheeled out to make comments before the code of conduct hearing, last week we had one of RA’s pet journalists have enough information to write 4 double page spreads in the paper. Much of that could only have come from one of the parties.

RA have had their PR machine in operation from day one so it’s a bit rich for them to complain about Folau engaging one.

As for Kafer’s intervention; get me a bucket

I can’t see how it would be in Folau’s interest to leak anything that we read in the paper last week. But neither of us know so it’s best to agree or disagree

Proud to say that I make four of the list on Israels post so as hell awaits me I will weigh in.
Israel stupid , RA stupider.
Can't wait for the disclosure documents on the way to the court. Should make interesting reading and will the board stand down if they lose?
