similar experience, not the 90s, only last season.. had early discussions until it was clear we'd be nothing more then vassal of the shute shield club... which would be fine if they were half competent, but they're not.

DIV 6 tips
Burraneer Vs Syd Harbour - Mighty Oysters by 3
Georges River vs Penrith - Georges river by 12
Manly Savers VS Merrylands - Top of the table clash, going to go with the upset here. Merrylands by 4
Oatley Vs Cronulla - Cronulla lads get it done by 18

Thats a confident call over the Emus after this big win last week!

Burraneer short of numbers last week I understand which might explain the result. Burra having a tough year compared to their recent success.

That said, momentum is a funny thing and It would be great if the Emus can keep it rolling.

Hard to tip against George’s River, down a couple of games in the rest of the comp they have got the closest to Savers and Harbour of anyone other than Merrylands. It’s a clear cut top 4 in Div 6 for me.
Penrith have been brave this year but they face a tough slog in the run home with 4 out of 6 games remaining vs Harbour and co.

I wonder if this is where Subbies need to step in more. (I understand they aren’t counsellors and players won’t just play for a club if you tell them)
But it seems crazy that we have allowed “Burraneer” and “Burraneer Colts” to be two different clubs. Especially now that they are struggling in a few years we could see the senior club fold. Together they have at least 1 team and Colts which would help Div 4. Potentially grow into Div 3? Not to mention the Oatley Georges River situation.

I understand the history and the reasons for the splits and Subbies will show the stats of the number of clubs being up. But surely managing new clubs requests better so that we are supporting existing clubs rather than letting the split is the better option? With a new junior club at Box Hill do we gain from allowing them to be a senior club in several years cause they’ve played juniors together or do we tell/manage them and say the club in your area Is Rennegades?

Muddying those waters of course is the presence of Eastwood.

As I've said before: lack of alignment is killing us. I'm putting in volunteer effort to try and forge links with local junior entities (schools and clubs).

I can't compete with a club who has money or can provide coaching clinics on behalf of their club, with the tacit understanding those kids go to that club.

They've. had a good few years in third Div. You'd love to think Knox and LCOIRFC could push back into Div 2 given the numbers/quality of Colts

Of course maybe 2 Grades + Colts is becoming a limit for many clubs.

I'm looking at overseas models where 3-4 teams is the maximum, including "A", Reserves, U21 and maybe U19

Huge call from Knox. Especially when their colts have the week off. Doesn’t make sense that a club last week ran a 2s with at least 3 fresh subs and a colts side whose 9 from 9 (with 9 bonus points) can’t get 15 together from 30+ guys last week. Tough for Blacktown in this situation.

The 4 team final series for a 6 team comp is ridiculous when you have team 4 in Farrant forfeiting during the season.

The jump for clubs from Division 3 to 2 without another club filling holes is too great. Hills is the closest but they have no Colts realistically they should be in Div 5. Especially now with Colleagues 2 forfeiting the last 2 weeks.

Though it becomes a house of cards if 1 team goes from these 6 team divisions.
