An epic game. Reds did brilliantly to win that considering the massive injury pre and during the match. When Tate went off we had one sole playmaker and he was very average.

In fact we had a few passengers. And no possession.

So yes. A brilliant bloody win led by Wilson massive through the game and then big late impact by McReight, Uru and Smith.

Two wins in wet weather. Very in-Australian
Thought the red-grey gradient of headgears in Wilson-McReight-Stewart were at the heart of that effort, all in the tick of it when anything went our way.

Sooo that was better than anything i saw from the Tahs last year. So that's something. On the other hand, really should've won against a Reds side that threw next to nothing at them.

some positive obs:
- Newsome looks excellent at fullback. I never would have picked it but he barely put a foot wrong.
- Perese continues to look fucking deadly. Could tidy up his decision making a little but for the most part is clearly our best backline player.
- Gordon played quite well (although a few points deducted for some average kicks).
- Pack looks a lot better. Cridge and Holloway seem a huge upgrade on whatever flogs we had in the second row last year.
- Bell continues to impress.

negatives:
- Donaldson is a fucking shitshow. I've been saying it and other blokes on here have been saying he's a future Wallaby. Not. a. chance.
- Wingers aren't great. It should never have ended up in Donaldson's hands for that non-try. Pietsch had the space any other winger would've used to score.
- Why take a drop goal when you have advantage right in front? Roll the dice on getting a 5 pointer and if not come back and take the 90% shot at goal. Seems to be a general theme with Aussie teams and advantage. Just as likely to use advantage for a pick and go.
- as always, depth. Horton isn't up to it and not sure Edmed is going to offer much more than Donaldson. etc.

Edit:
On the Reds side of things i thought McReight and Wilson were both immense. McReight was a proper menace on the ball and Wilson defended and carried extremely well.

Otherwise, it was a shit performance from them and a minor miracle they won. Any other team would have tucked them away for plenty.

“Donaldson is a fucking shitshow. I've been saying it and other blokes on here have been saying he's a future Wallaby. Not. a. chance.” Quote from the great Derpus.

Very harsh judgement.
Made a couple of plays he may regret ... but a ‘shitshow’ ....
Can’t take you seriously.

Reds standouts were Wilson and McReight, on the carry and ruck respectively. Genuine pests.

Other than that, I noticed Uru do some good things when he came on, but the reserve tight five guys need to lift a bit at scrum time.

Tackle tackle tackle miss tackle tackle enough to win. That was the game.

I guess you like being wrong.

But look, if he suddenly turns it around and starts playing well I'll happily admit to being wrong. I want him and the Tahs to be good. They just aren't.

Really?? I thought he was the reason we won the game.

Ill have to watch again.
I thought he did enough for a B+

Kicked his conversions and penalties, setup a try and defended well.

General play kicking was probably below average, didn’t take control of the game against an inferior flyhalf and it’s clear he’s given up the leadership stuff - ASY (Angus Scott-Young) captain when Tate went off which I found interesting

WTF?

This aged well for Tahs fans
Mate, the Reds were supposed to monster the Tahs in the forwards. You lose one player and all of a sudden you get pushed off the ball almost every scrum. A VERY young Tahs almost won a match they were supposed to lose by plenty. Lots to be happy with, but as a Reds fan I would be seriously worried about the Brumbies and the Force.

I guess my problem with what Cheika did was instead of focusing on a cracking contest by both teams and giving credit where it was due his first contribution after the game was negative. Does anyone thing if he looked he couldn’t have found illegal clean outs by the Tahs. It’s tabloid commentating.

Cheika’s whole performance reminded me of Gus Gould which is a pity because he actually has a lot to add as a commentator. Ironically I think Gould does too, because his knowledge of the game and insight is so good, but he is dreadful because he is a deliberate arse when he commentates. I really hope this isn’t a path that Cheika and Stan are going to head down.

Good win by the reds.
But perplexed about the Tah's not taking the easy points in the first half when it was bucketing down.

I guess with 30% possession I think it is a bit tough for him to really control the game. I do wish he had another 10-15 on his kicks and his kick out on the full was a bit of a blow at the time but generally I thought he did pretty well with the opportunities he had.
