There have never been any whole of comp awards as far as I'm aware. Them not being included in the announcement doesn't mean they won't happen though, I'd expect they'll be looking to put together a full awards night as part of this.

Appears it works on a points system decided by coach / opposition captain. If Caleb Clarke misses a handful of games, odds are he doesn't win it. Same reason Cleary hasn't won Dally M.

It's even votes for every team awarded by the opposition, so it'll probably slightly favour a standout performer on a poor team, which is why I reckon Ardie Savea is so likely.
