Like most I agree would be great to see them play home games in Islands, and be based there actually, but where? Problem is seems to be facilities as well as not being a one island team, they could be in Samoa,Tong or Fiji. Not even sure what playing grounds would work for travelling there for home games.
Great, see I should of read the draw properly. That's bloody great.Moana are playing the Reds in Samoa in two weeks
I'm not sure the new laws have been the main contributor to higher scores or just an apparent drop in defensive standard for some teams, leading to blowouts. Definitely feels much quicker though, so imagine player fatigue might play a role in that. Some good stats released by the SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) (Super Rugby Pacific) Tournament Director citing the improvements in the overall match-day product following the new laws. Perhaps I'm being cynical here - but they haven't listed in here anything about the ball in play time compared to previous years and I wonder if there is a reason for that?

After round 5 the local ladder would be-Is there a separate trophy for the best Australian team, against other Australian teams? Kind of like a Super AU competition within the competition?
Any attempt at a ladder based on Australian results wont be consistent until after a full home and away schedule has been completed and gets confusing given some weeks there are 2 local double headers and other weeks there may be none.
After 3 weeks the local derby ladder from what I can see would be-
1 Brumbies 8 points
2 Reds 6 points
3 Rebels 5 points
4 Force 4 points
5 Waratahs 2 points
No local derbies this week (round 4)
Local Super AU ladder updateAfter round 5 the local ladder would be-
1 Brumbies 8 points
1 Rebels 8 points
3 Reds 7 points
4 Force 5 points
5 Waratahs 2 points
The number of games is inconsistent so the ladder is not really fair, but of most importance is that the Tahs are last, but this may be a Reds fan thing?
You are obviously the seer mate, if not 2nd maybe 3rd huh? Brumbies are looking like a 1 horse race for top Aus team at this stage anyway.I am still willing to predict, but won't put money on it, that the Tahs will finish in 2nd spot on the local ladder.
Isn't it more about giving teams a breather? What's this artificial bye nonsense? If the season is too short whack another game or two in.
Yeah the season is too short, can't believe it's at halfway point! What's this artificial bye nonsense? If the season is too short whack another game or two in.
Great post always good to see an understanding of numbers vs. just parroting what's on paperI'm not sure the passing accuracy % is any relevant given the very low std dev of the data.
Yep I have noted we got the hard part of comp to come WOB, and can see it actually be pretty tough to hold on to a top 4 spot. I actually have fingers crossed that they do somehow, as we off to a show in Wellington the weekend of the QFs, and well if I down there.........Current Top-8 v other current Top-8:
Suggests to me that 'canes have racked up more soft points than anyone else so likely to fall away as they come up against the higher-ranked teams (sorry @Dan54). Also that Crusaders are pretty well placed all things (mainly injury) considered with mostly bottom-eight opposition to come & the injury ward starting to empty.
How the fuck is Fines not starting for the Force?
