Intersting to see Josh Ioane not even on bench, same as Josh Lord, though can understand Lord a little more with Chiefs depth at Lock. Kind of hope that McWhannell gets a bit of time, like the look of this fella from what I have seen. Pretty surprised with Weber getting break too.
For the Sadists, you have to imagine that Chistie,Newell and Fainga'anuku must be feeling embarassed, they the only 3 in the starting line up that haven't played a test!!

Rumours (TV) are that regardless of what Gibbes said other day Canes won't have a team for this week and will be announced later this morning.
Does seem odd that no team has been named.

^ no longer rumours:

Thought this would happen as soon as they didn't train Monday & there was no "Hurricanes back in training" story Tuesday or yesterday. Feel for MP (Moana Pasifika), their already screwed-up season didn't need this.

Add Bryn Hall to that list. Unlucky not to have got a cap somewhere along the way.

And who have MP (Moana Pasifika) got next week? Let's guess who else has got Covid in squad-yep the Clan!

It's pretty good repository of shit talking and satire that enrages the punishing boombers by merely existing. Do recommend. Especially as the smaller rugby group filters out the less entertaining elements that have weaseled their way into the cricket commentary group.

McMillan being quoted as saying Tribe have a definite Covid case in their squad & left another 5-6 out as a precaution. No names of course but I guess you'd look at the "surprise omissions" & work it out...

I pretty sure it did apply to Pro game, as noone can fly if they not vaxxed...

In responding to the kerfuffle over some Clan players not wearing masks on a recent flight back to Dunners, AirNZ spokesman confirmed that all that's required is a vaccine pass or a negative test (didn't specify whether PCR or RAT).

Isn't that a load of s*** , 3 players in a row were wearing masks, but not corrextly, and it mage news??
But regardless the players have to be vaxxed to travel to Australia, or then return to NZ without quarantine, so pretty sure all are vaxxed.

Yep answers why Weber etc out, the other 5-6 didn't train for first 2 days of week as precaution, so weren't named huh? MacMillan says they did it to plan the full week.

Women's comp underway:

Chiefs Manawa 17 (Angel Mulu try 7min. Ruby Tui try 21min, Kennedy Simon try 31min; Kelly Brazier con) Matatū 15 (Pip Love try 17min, Grace Steinmetz try 27min, Amy Rule try 73min). HT: 17-10

With 'canes v Blues declared a draw & no Final it'll take a minor miracle for Manawa not to win it.

Big day for women's sport in the Tron with ODI World Cup match NZ v India at one end of Seddon Rd (NZ won by a fair margin) & this at the other.

Two MP (Moana Pasifika) catch-up games announced:

"Moana Pasifika will now meet the Blues at Mt Smart Stadium on Tuesday, March 29, and the Chiefs in Hamilton Waikato on Tuesday, April 12."

Hopefully they're working on 'canes as we speak.
