SR2023 - NZ Derbies & v Drua/ Moana

Dismal Pillock

Michael Lynagh (62)
D.Mac: running shit
BBarrett: clattering cacophony of cowardly cop-outs.

You think with a big match like this he would lift. Contender for his AB 10 jersey playing right across from him.

No.

Hasnt taken on the line once. Perofeta was gliding thru gaps from 1st 5 last weekend

FUCK

Shit weather kept it close and dragged the poor Chiefs down to the Bleus unimaginative paint-by-numbers plodding level.

Bleus plethora of big name AB's endeavored to blunder their way from fuck-up to fuck-up to fuck-up.

Fittingly, incumbent AB winger and giant useless bumble-footed, titty-handed klutz Caleb Clarke bungles it over the line at the death.

TL/DR;

The Prophecy hath spaken...

Those known as The Tribe & those known as Loss Bleus shall bash the living shit out of each other in a Semi Final at a venue to be determined; and only one of them shall progress to the Grand Final; which may or may not be played on the unhallowed turf of the Addington Recreation & Sport Enclosure; but whether there or elsewhere, the saviour known as Razor shall perform certain motions that may loosely be described as dancing.

Thus hath the Prophecy spaken.

looking like an all NZ semis youd say.

Brumbies should be there. Drua have a favourable draw against the NZ teams this year, so could also be pesting around off the back of some luck and Fijian razzmatazz. Though things will get harder for them as winter approaches...

Landers vs MP (Moana Pasifika) (Moana Pasifika) gets zero chat? Understandable, it was a T- zero event. Mt Smart was an utter, utter ghost town. There is no way there were more than 1,000 people spread out over the stupidly big space. Should be absolute alarm bells for MP (Moana Pasifika) (Moana Pasifika) and NZRFU and state of NZ rugby that Super Rugby in Auckland on a Friday night can only attract a crowd of 312.

I wonder if it's got anything to do with the fact that the other team that plays out of Mount Smart & has a strong Pasifika identity has won four games in the first month of their comp, more than they've won in several recent seasons? Everyone loves a winner.

Canes and Clan named.

Hurricanes: Josh Moorby, Julian Savea, Billy Proctor, Jordie Barrett, Salesi Rayasi, Aidan Morgan, Cam Roigard; Ardie Savea (c), Du’Plessis Kirifi, Brayden Iose, Isaia Walker-Leawere, James Blackwell, Tyrel Lomax, Dane Coles, Xavier Numia: Reserves: Asafo Aumua, Pouri Rakete-Stones, Owen Franks, TK Howden, Peter Lakai, Jamie Booth, Harry Godfrey, Peter Umaga-Jensen.
Will be interested to see if young Godfrey gets a decent run, liked the boy both times I have seen him live.

Highlanders: Sam Gilbert, Mosese Dawai, Fetuli Paea, Thomas Umaga-Jensen, Jonah Lowe, Mitch Hunt, Folau Fakatava, Hugh Renton, Billy Harmon (c), Shannon Frizell, Josh Dickson, Pari Pari Parkinson, Jermaine Ainsley, Andrew Makalio, Ethan de Groot. Reserves: Leni Apisai, Daniel Lienert-Brown, Saula Ma'u, Max Hicks, Sean Withy, James Arscott, Scott Gregory, Marino Mikaele-Tu'u
Aaron Smith out for Fiekding, had to shoot home to Fielding family illness. But that's a decent Clan team, you know you going ok when your bench has likes of Mikaele-Tu'u and Withy (liking the look of this young fella too) a little risky with 2 back reserves
