Anyway, let's hope Tomane's fucking abominable defensive nous doesn't cost us the game. He's only up against some rookie ;)

Hope so, otherwise they'd have been better off giving him game time in the nrc

yes and no..two weeks with the Wallabies would be better for overall fitness and combining with the team than the same time playing NRC..but as they say, nothing beats match fitness..

Link will want him there in Brisbane so unless Phipps goes down after 5 minutes and White then plays the house down, some game time v the Argies is assured I reckon..

People say this but he scrummaged okay in the Supe.
As a non expert in the scrum, I couldn't work out the sudden criticism of his scrummaging under the new engage. He didn't seem glaringly bad. It almost felt like it became a popular thing to say with little evidence to back it up.

Well the Waratahs scrum had regressed in 2014. A prop has to take some of the blame for that.

minimum acceptable margin.
anything less would be a triumph for the Wallabies.

Oom Paarl is really saying Bokke by 10 (after applying the usual adjusting factors). He may be close to the money with that tip.

Hometown advantage will get the Bokke the victory.

I don't buy into the alleged token (reverse) racism over the young fellow Oupa starting over Schalk. A kid has to have a run on Test debut at some time, and I reckon Mahoje has probably earned a his start on merit.

Starting our most experienced hooker available. Seems reasonable to me.

On Robinson, I think the conjecture around his scrummaging is that he is not as dominant as he once was before the new engagement laws.

When you consider that he has never really had a high workrate, perhaps Link decided that Cowan's scrummaging was about on par with Robinson's, but the former had the added benefit of doing more around the field. Who knows.

In saying that, I would've had Toby Smith there in the Wallabies squad before both Pek and Fatcat anyway.

It thought Robinson was OK too; but what bothered me in the last couple of years was his lack of dominance in tackling and rucking, whichever team had the ball - and in running with it close to the ruck (as contrasted to when he did it one pass wider or through arm tackles.)
.

His work rate is the issue, he is now only solid at scrum time, and there are others just as solid who spend less time fiddling with their head gear instead of getting back into position

He is effective when in play, he justs needs to be in play more often

Clearly link doesn't rate Hodgson's pilfers as much as the mug punters on the roar and the main page.

Think you are spot on with Robinson. Also I think his scrummaging was prior to this year was actually poor. I recall a couple of soft penalties and I do re-call him even being dominated by Ben Alexander. Yes that's right Ben Alexander. You know your a poor scrummager when this happens. To be fair he had a knee injury and it takes some time to fully recover from that, as well as adapting to the new laws at the same time. So good on him for bringing it together.

He is now a solid scrummager with a ton of Test experience - nice addition to the team.
