Marlins got up in 3's
Game of 2 halves in 2's - we had a light breeze with us in the first half and had a good lead at the break.
Ones - we came home with the light breeze in the second half.
Cecil, and Shires, had strong games.

Beautiful day at Woollahra, they have built a nice little hill at the far end. Good spot to watch the game from.
$5 tinnies and good food options, overall the new ground is a hit with me.
Playing wise, seemed to be a bit crap for scrums, front rows were slipping at times. A few players with some burns from the carpet but not too bad.
Neither team impressed that much, good arm-wrestle of a match but we lost the ball in contact way to much and our new 10 needs a bit more composure.
$5 tinnies and good food options, overall the new ground is a hit with me.

Coogee Oval turned on a wonderful day of rugby for the special day organised to pay tribute to 3 of Randwick's true greats who had passed in recent times - Peter Johnson, Sir Nicholas Shehadie and Ken Catchpole. With members of each of the players families present, President Bob Dwyer paid tribute to all 3 before the commencement of the 1st Grade match - noting that all 3 were truly gifted sportsmen and rugby legends who had contributed hugely to the fabric of rugby at not only Randwick, but the Wallabies as well. and espoused those tremendous qualities of sportsmanship and team-before-self - which he hoped would be continued by the teams of the current generation. I'm not sure if it was the haunting "Flowers of the Forest" lament played by the Lone Piper from Catchy's old school - Scots College - or the rousing 3 cheers and minutes applause in lieu of the traditional moment's silence - but there were plenty of spectators exhibiting the odd tear or 2 in the corners of their eyes - however it seemed that the rugby on display seemed to lift a notch or 2 on the day.

Penrith still getting thrashed and can't even fill in a fucking team sheet for their Colts, while First and Second Grade missing about half a dozen names each.
Parramatta didn't field Colts 3s by the looks, and were belted by Uni in every other fixture.

Back in the day all clubs would recruit foe 1st colts but not to warehouse all the talent
Stats 1st Colts Uni 2002 -2017 (16 GF) won 14, lost 2 to 6 different opposition
2nd Colts Uni 2002 – 2017 (16 GF) won 13, lost 3 to 6 different opposition

Both divisions set to 10 teams = 20 week season.
Pay what you fucking want.
4 Grades + 2 Colts.
Promotion and Relegation top and bottom 2 in each case.
Let's face it: not like Subbies is "amateur" in anything but name. And Western Sydney is Not. Getting. Better.
So forget it - shrink rugby back to the heartland and start again.

would love to see the area try and extend themselves. 5 junior clubs for only one subbies club isnt a good strike rate, especially in an area where non of league, afl or soccer are overly dominant
