Penrith beat Warringah 12-0 in a trial on Wednesday. Apparently about 90/10 possession to Warringah so good defence from the Emus to shut them out. Penrith forward pack looking good but depth in all areas a concern and lacking a quality number 10.

Im not sure Bennetts played although Piukala did, I remember seeing McDougall at 13. Piukala to be joining his French side mid season and rumour has it Bennetts will be leaving overseas mid year aswell can anyone confirm this ?

Manly won by about 2 tries
I spoke to a Norths player and he said Norths were very close to full strength and Manly are a good team and will be hard to beat

looks like the revolving doors of Arthur Wykes, Shanin Proctor, Marcus Ah Lam, Joey Afualo, Moefili Pinono continue. This must be 3rd or 4th time those guys have been back at Eastwood. They've been at Parra a few times as well, Penrith, West Harbour.....the list goes on!

interesting that Jai Ayoub has gone to Eastwood. With Hola established at 10, it will be interesting to see how many 1st grade games he actually plays.

Palamo, McCaffrey and Perrett is one very strong back row.

And Tyler Spitz (am sure there's an Austin Powers gag in there somewhere with that surname) has left West Harbour for Eastwood. Interesting.........

I wonder about some of those guy's. Proctor, Afualo and Pinono all played with the 2Blues colts team that were dominant in 2006.
The team also had Jeremy Sua, David Fungelei, Brian Sefenaia, Sitiveni Mafi and the Ma'a brothers. Since then they have changed clubs several times. The first 3 mentioned in my post have played 1's at West Harbour and Penrith.

Interesting Notes (from my point of view)
EASTWOOD:
Michael MacDougall at 12 over Sione Piukala.... is the King injured?
No Barry Fa'amusili yet.... how unfit is he?

MANLY:
Hingano straight into 1st Grade from Colts..... heard they were going to ease him in.

Ati Pakalani now with Southern Districts

I'm fairly sure Sione suffered a shoulder injury last week and Barry didn't start too many games in 1st Grade last year. He spent a substantial amount of last year in thirds.

Yet he dominated the Uni scrum.. although he did have help from Longbottom and Fitzy

Barry is quite probably the most prodigiously talented prop in Australian rugby. It is still not too late for him to wake up to himself and fulfill his potential.

Couldn't agree more. There's a Super Rugby jersey waiting for him in 2013 if he improved his habits and training ethic.

Totally agree. Toby is a pretty level headed. Has been around the Wicks for a fair few of years now and did his time in 2nds. Will make a great captain.
