Imo Wilson and Valetini are both secondary lineout jumpers, and I think it is too great a risk to go into a test match with only one primary jumper. I don't think both Wilson and Valetini can start if Skelton is also starting. I think we'll see either Skelton on the bench or a jumper at 6. All assuming Wilson is fit to play of course.

See, I'd argue it's too great a risk to play 3 locks against Scotland considering how fast and good they are at the breakdown

Schmidt has been building this team with consistency. There is no way I can imagine that Wilson will be out if he is fit to play; Schmidt has chosen him as captain and I cant see that changing.

With that in mind I also cannot see Skelton being pulled.

Our attack has been excellent because it has been varied and the squad has obviously been told to back themselves and try things.

We may see some throws over the back, maybe short to the front and some other creativity to counter the lack of 2 out and out jumpers.

In Schmidtty we trust.

I just went through the lineouts in the Wales game prior to Skelton leaving the field.

We had 9 of our 13 lineout throws during the almost 55 minutes he was on the field and won all 9 of them. We mainly played 5 man lineouts but had one 4 man and one 6 man. Frost took 4 of them, Uru 4 and Valetini 1. We scored three maul tries in that period.

Wales only had four throws during that time and lost one of them (Skelton forced a maul turnover). Another one they just won but it was messy ball.

I doubt it would be looked at that we can't bring Wilson back without demoting Skelton. Our lineout movement and lifting looked pretty dynamic and we were never really challenged for our own ball. I think you could happily replace Uru as the second jumper with Wilson/Valetini.

He seemed to chose Wright as the Captain until he broke again. Other than that I don't think anyone's been given the permanent role it seems. In the pack Valetini, McReight and Bell are the only absolute lock ins even though plenty like faessler aren't going to be dropped currently. With Bell we just want him fit.

For me it'd be McReight if you needed a guy with no real threat to his job amongst the entire player pool.

Well that's the question, is it worth having maybe a slightly better lineout by having an inferior forward pack around the field
No it's not and never should be an option, the main reason we are going well is due to our pack giving the backs go forward ball.

Is that actually true? Since being made captain, Wilson has been selected for every game he has been available to play and been captain.

Schmidt revealed that Wilson would remain as a key member of Australia’s leadership group but would not guarantee him the captaincy for the tour which will see them take on England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland in November as former captains Skelton, Slipper, Ala'alatoa and Tate McDermott are also in contention to skipper the side.

There's probably also video of this quote pre-tour.
