Bring on Wilson and give Valetini a break around 50 assuming the game is going OK of course. Pulling Valetini early if we are struggling makes no sense, he has a big engine and will be up for next week's game.

I was assuming Wilson and Valetini would both start with Wilson resuming the captaincy.

Any news on Kerevi's RC? When's the tribunal?

Tuesday evening apparently.

I don't see how Kerevi can start this week with the suspension looming over him and a very limited preparation. Surely you're not running Tuesday's session with him as the 12.

They'd have what, 3 sessions this week then captain's run on Saturday?

I'm replying to those who state Skelton will be on the bench, I disagree as do you. The idea offered by some posters was that we would have to put V to 8, Uru 6 (or some mix) to make the lineout work but I think with Williams starting the lineout will be fine. We could start Wilson, BobbV and McRight but I would want V to be replaced at 50 due to next week's big game - mind you both the remaining games are big.

Fuuuuuck off fluffybunnys. Why is this on Monday morning as well?
It was interesting hearing Wright's interview after the game saying he was really enjoying playing afternoon games up north. If it helps keep that winning feeling I can hack the time pain.

Anyone questioning Will Skelton's inclusion needs to remember Wales tour of Aus. Without Skelton, the Welsh maul was dominant, they crossed the line four times thanks to their maul, even doing it with 1 forward in the bin, 7 welsh v 8 aussies.
This is a real point of strength for Skelton - but our defensive maul had already significantly improved as evidenced by their performance v England.

Gleeson on the bench makes sense to provide a like for like replacement for Valetini - but I wonder if Schmidt will be tempted to bring on Uru and try to really speed the game up in the last 20 with Uru and McDermott injecting pace alongside Wilson & McReight.

have a read of Bishop's analysis, the gifs alone are great fun. The one where Skelton literally splits their defence in two is brilliant.

I really like the one where three Welsh players finally clear him out of our rolling maul and they all end up on the ground while our maul accelerates forward now with a numerical advantage.

A great visual display of what his physicality brings.

I did have a chuckle during the game when Skelton fell down on the guy holding the ball in a maul and didn’t appear to be sure if the ref had called him onside or not and you could see him trying to work out if he needed to roll off the ball or not.

There was another case where Skelton cleaned a guy out in the side and again landed on top of him. Then he just lay there and held him out of play while the Welsh guy was trying to get Skelton off him. It was like watching an older sibling beat up on the youngest - the Welsh guy was doing his best but Skelton had him completely under control.

I can see a "standard" backrow of Valetini, McReight, Wilson starting with Skelton. But I'm going to seriously be watching the line-out. As I said earlier, I'd also consider Skelton at #4 sitting behind Bell - if Tupou is starting and told to fucking hold up your side.
