Nothing they do - even a Baronial Library (almost a contradiction in terms) - causes even the slightest raised eyebrow. They have won the race to the bottom with daylight second. let's see how they go in the sport money cant buy this weekend.
Is that more of what you were hoping for?

You have to give it to Lambert, he does nothing by half.

Will this edifice have a throne room for his use?;)

“academic research and professional learning”: wtf?
ACER and med school?
Hmm don’t think it’s a quadrangle, either, as it only has buildings on 3 sides.

It's obscene that Schools like this get any Government funding, when so many districts are desperate for better resourced Schools.

While I don't endorse this sort of largesse, do you really think parents, who have paid a shitload of taxes over the years, should get $0 in the way of educational funding? Odd notion.

According to the article on the link in post #6826 TSC won't receive any government funding for this project. Fully funded by parents/old boys/benefactors.

Rod Kafer has been engaged?
Thought he was employed by RA in a f/t capacity?

When Rod Kafer becomes the next CEO of Rugby Australia it will be because they need to go back to a 'rugby person' from inside the tent.

To be inside the tent you have to have a connection to the Shore School, so Rod's just building that resume.

Even the Queenslander's are in on it now with a Shore Old Boy in David Codey as President.

Nice segway to get that connection.

Nothing would surprise me in the world of ARU.

Next Ceo will be from inside tent. Not sure if will be Rod.

Indeed KP. And he's inside every tent at the circus, including the big top now with the Shore connection. He even works for the people who tell you whether or not the circus is going well or not.;)

You'll note that he's never actually taken on a role at which his success can be measured - he's always a consultant, or an assistant or an expert analyst. i.e. someone else always takes the fall if things go south.

I think this pathway is highly respected within the ARU and is straight out of corporate networking 101 and also forms part of the nepotism and cronysim 202 course.:)

Yeah, it's not about reciprocity, Government funding should go where it's most needed.
There are too many Schools with demountable classrooms, and locations where kids are forced to learn in temperatures in the high 40's that should receive priority funding. Elite Schools that have gym facilities superior to most professional teams,or grandstands costing 8 figures that are used literally a handful of times a year,or Olympic sized swimming pools underneath their library should be at the back of the que.
unfortunately the Tingha Public Schools of the world don't have a stack of well connected old boys or current parents lobbying for funds, nor can they afford business managers that know how to exploit the system.

Id like to see the bearded lady and Kafer in the same tent at the same time - has anyone ever seen them together?

There is some distance between $0 and being overfunded. And I disagree that high tax paying families should be excluded from any government funding for their child. For anything.

Why doesn't the same argument apply to private hospitals that get direct and indirect public funding?

I wouldn't like to see parents asked to pay too much more to educate their kids privately.

The left just hates any money going to the elite private schools

In my Utopian world, Schools with wants rank behind Schools with needs for Government funding. If all Schools had adequate facilities I'd be happy for the high taxpayers families Schools to be at the front of the que.
I'm specifically referring to capital expenditure, Im not suggesting that the Government cease funding per student as is the current practice.
Any way back to footy talk.

I must have misinterpreted what this meant.

I wasn't suggesting they be anywhere specific in a queue, just that I think all pupils be funded at some baseline level. Of course more resources should go to schools in greater need. And I made it pretty clear what I think about castles, Wellness centres, underground swimming pools and the like.
