Sorry is just me. What the???
Pardon my shorthand. Trying to save time and get ready to go out for dinner.
FIFY = fixed it for you; delete other, insert some.
What I tried to convey was since St Augs is not a GPS school, New and Scots can't be classified as other GPS schools.
Otherwise, I agree with the comparison though.
My pedantic switch is now off.

Absolutely fair enough

None of this would get into court cause its all hearsay evidence.

2 things:
(1) Not all hearsay is inadmissible;
(2) This is more a pub chat than a court case. Things either do or dont pass the sniff test. Some people have more sensitive noses than others.
There would not be much conversation in any context, including the non-virtual, if all statements had to pass the test of admissibility for evidence in a court case.
Sometimes I wonder if this part of the net is intended to provide a medium by which people can be anonymously offended and indignant - not that theres anything wrong with that.
I think it should be acknowledged that a lot of the rumour and innuendo dredged up over the last couple of years on this thread actually turned out to be right on the money.
Of course we got one thing wrong: none of us called them anomalies.

Totally agree, unfortunately I was warned for mine but the moderator thinks this is just fine!

**The moderators don't know about stuff unless someone reports it, especially in cess-pits like this thread, where most of us would rather not tread.
If a post is offensive, hit the report button under that post.**

My apologies to the good folk at the Church of Rome, if any offence was taken. None was intended.

How typical that the part which was removed was about the Vatican, not the appalling racial slur.

You might send some of those apologies to the young men you classified as "the islander boys". Because all those "islands" are the same to a casual racist, aren't they? Maybe look at a map some time and see that the Pacific has a large number of discrete island nations in it, including Australia.

And for the record, it was not offensive because I or anyone else took offence. It was just offensive.

I shook my head when I saw that too.
Can't believe how ignorant some people are.
Not in straight, your post implies two things,
(1) islanders do not attend school unless someone else pays for them
(2)Their parents/ families wouldn't/couldn't or are incapable of paying for their own kids to attend school.
I can't believe you don't see nothing racist in that statement.
My experience of islander kids in rugby, is the kids are respectful while the parents are strongly family oriented, highly motivated and hard working. Yes, I know that some of the kids are on scholarships at private schools but I have no idea if they are sport based or academic because these kids are all-rounders. /fairness
P.S. Please excuse me, because fairness has no place on this thread.

I deleted the original post - not that anyone noticed that since it was, you know, deleted. I left a modified form so that ensuing posts didn't all need to be deleted or have a completely empty quote above, so it was obvious what people are talking about. Obviously both parts were off the mark, but it was left so that the flow of the conversation remained.
Maybe I just delete the whole fucking thread, given that little sensible comes out of any discussion? It would certainly be my preference.
Maybe if some of you think before you assume too much?
