Thought Perrett went ok too, he certainly got around the field and seemed to do some work. Needs a bit more impact at ruck time though.
This. Story of our seasons. The lack of a quality fetcher or pest at the breakdown was really shown last night.

Brandon was a pussie, high school newspaper editor my arse, he could never rock a mike like a vandal. Never understood why he kept having an on and off thing with Kelly, i would never have kicked her out.

OMG, have I shared too much?
He was an awesome sportsman though, I will try to find an artice on Grantland.com I read that talked about the best tv sporting achievments

Yeah, I believe he played ice hockey and raced in nascar, or something similar. If I am not mistaken, he had a massive crash a few years ago.

Nascar was real life, in the tv show I think he was a champion track and field athlete, hockey player and footballer too, I think he may have been a basketballer as well as that.

Ged was a step up from Freier who is declining a bit. Mistake not to start Ged I thought.

The selection of JOC (James O'Connor) at 10 must have been about getting everyone (Stirling, JOC (James O'Connor), Inman, Beale) onto the field at once. I still rate Inman and think he could be a good one as he keeps developing.

So Beale at 10 or 15 for the Rebels in the future? I would have to say that it would depend upon what other choices they have available in each position.

Beale at 10, JOC (James O'Connor) at 15 I think is the sensible answer. JOC (James O'Connor) then gets to play the role that everyone has Beale doing for the Wallabies. Playing mostly counterattack and injecting individual brilliance as needed, and coming in as 1st or 2nd receiver as required.

@ The Big Code.
What a difference QC (Quade Cooper) going off made though in the second half. I am not sure why he was taken off, they must have some concern about his knee because usually you would be wanting to get as much game time back as possible, as long as the knee is structurally sound (and if it isn't he shouldn't be playing). I'd be keen to know if he is playing with some discomfort. Anyway, the Reds totally lacked the direction and structure that QC (Quade Cooper) gave them in the first half

I suspect that Links has two factors in mind when taking QC (Quade Cooper) off: (a) possible medical advice suggesting to bring him on carefully, & (b) to give Lucas playing time behind what was in the first half, a dominant pack. But the Rebels pack didn't do this tactic any favours in the second half

Which girl's school did Phipps go to? The number of times he spat the dummy was enough to even make his coach cringe.
And then that obvious shoulder charge on Lucas over the try line when Lucas kicked out was really gutless.
It was probably about then that he realised he'd lost to Nic White as reserve half in the upcoming Rugby Championship

He went to the same school that most grumpy half backs go to. Genia is one of the exceptions, but Sheehan and White seemed to have attended the same one.

I dunno. I still don't think Beale is a great 10. I think he would be a better playmaker in rugby league. And is a better fullback in union.

His best weapon as a 10 is the ability to take the ball to the line (although not always running straight) and put the the defense in two minds, holding the ball up and skipping and jumping across field and then popping a very short pass to someone who is running at an angle into a gap. If this doesn't happen, and no one is in support, he'll eventually run through a gap himself. I think if he was playing 10 more regularly, and not just half a game where tactics from the opposition team haven't targeted him at 10, I think his limited game would get found out more often than not.

As shown on the weekend, when he had to pass the ball more than 10m, it went to ground a lot of times.

I think Quades ability to make average players around him look good, and organise them and use the whole field makes him a better flyhalf.

Quade is clearly the better 10, but I think Kurtley is clearly better than JOC (James O'Connor).

I am starting to agree JOC (James O'Connor) at wing for the wallabies or not at all (if Mitchell gets back to prime form I would vote not at all.

We'll have to wait 2 weeks for the battle of Barnes & Quade.

Come August 18th, what happens with JOC (James O'Connor) (provided his fit)? You can't displace Ioane & AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Beale will probably switch to fullback.

Mind you, it's really nice to have these selection headaches.

You probably can displace Ashley-Cooper for JOC (James O'Connor) if it's on the wing. But right now I don't think anyone knows where O'Connor is best suited too. I would not be suprised to see him coming off the bench for the Wallabies.

Great to see Quade find form, he is my Wallaby 10 any day of the week, you need that x-factor against the All Blacks and Springboks

Anyone know anything about Chris F'Sautia's injured shoulder?

It was reported that his left arm was in a sling after the game.
