I'm glad New Zealand won. They are a great team and have been the best team at the tournament. Having said that a small part of me was hoping the French would get up. Mean spirited I know. But I couldn't help it. I have always said that if we couldn't win it then I wanted them to.

Congratulations to New Zealand Rugby on hosting a great tournament and winning the world cup.

Bloody fantastic effort France. You were the only team in the whole tournament to give the All Blacks a run for their money. You should be proud of that effort.

To put that performance together in NZ home ground with 60000 NZers screaming for victory - wonderful performance by France. Wallabies could learn a bit about courage and performing under pressure from them.

All Blacks showed us their full repertoire tonight. Off their feet, in from the side, constantly offside, taking the man out without the ball, obstructing pillars in attack, the Franks technique (cleaning out support players 2+ metres behind the back of the opposing ruck), the cheap shot off the ball, all topped off by the classic McCaw 'Don't you know who I am ?' look . A complete performance.

I think the ref had absolutely everything to do with the result. There was a weakness to call a penalty to the French at the rucks and at the scrum. An absolute weakness.
