I am going to have to watch the replay of this match as I thought I saw more handling errors from Quade -
Agree with BH81, but the biggest factor against QC (Quade Cooper) apart from the obvious in this game as stated is the fact that this was his third yellow card in three tests, and all of them were deserved. I wouldn't be surprised if he has played his last game in RWC15. If it had been Simmons or Skelton getting three yellows in three games there be little argument to select either again.
3 in 3 games is a worry. But I can't believe you think that today's was deserved. I thought it was a ridiculously harsh call. If that was a yellow card, every tackle that makes contact above the shoulder should be.

It doesn't really matter though. He made the tackle and got yellow carded.
I agree that he didn't deserve a yellow card but he got one. His tackling technique risks it regularly because he swings his arm around the chest of the ball carrier and there is a risk he hits too high or bounces up off the ball.
Of course it matters.
If that is the new standard for a yellow card we should see at least 5 per game.
In the one sense you're right - it has happened and there is no taking it back. His tackling style contributed. It doesn't really matter though. He made the tackle and got yellow carded.

However, the yellow card has been a significant talking point today - both in the media and social media. Much of the talk has portrayed Cooper negatively. I find that disappointing when IMO it was a very poor decision by the ref.
Cooper had two handling errors and one pass to no-one. He didn't do a lot of the handling errors people here have attributed to him. Those were the three turnovers in ESPN's stats.

Beale played well, but then those criticising Cooper and praising Beale I don't think watched the whole game or have looked at all the stats. Beale played well, but had errors just like Cooper's. Beale's 2 tackles for 3 misses are not a good look, along with 2 penalties and a turnover. Cooper had 2 tackles for no misses, 1 penalty and 3 turnovers. If you take out the goal kicking and yellow, Cooper had a better game than Beale I thought. Problem is, there was a yellow card and his goal kicking.
Uruguay to squeeze this one out with a 3-point win.
