I have no doubt EJ (Eddie Jones) knows his onions re: rugby today. I am sure that his analysis (both opposition and team) and tactical nous is of the highest order. Hey, Jake White layered shitloads of praise on ol' Eddie for significantly contributing to the Boks 2007 RWC win. No argument from me.
But please, don't mistake that for knowing how to coach or manage the short, medium and long term interests of an organisation. On those subjects, EJ (Eddie Jones) has zero respect from me.
I also find his constant re-engineering of his history in the press both amusing and down-right piss-poor. How did he suddenly become a guru and spokesman for modern times? When did EJ (Eddie Jones) achieve the right to offer criticism of any coach or administration? Was it after he set the Wallaby brand respect back by years, or was it after he walked away from his self-created and total disaster zone at the Reds?
Sorry lads, but while EJ (Eddie Jones) may be offering the occasional pearl of wisdom, from my point of view he can, in short, fuck off.
As they say; those that can, do. Those that can't, teach. (Or post on a rugby board...!)
End Rant.
