Rugby League players who could have/could make the switch

If he can fit under the NSW salary cap with Beale, Izzy and all the other Wallabies in the squad it will be a total face of the salary cap system. It appears he is leaving the Tigers over money so I can see NSW offering him a stack of cash. For the ARU to offer him any money would be even more of a joke considering his stated ambition to play for the ABs.

I reckon Bernard is regretting the backflip on the Rebels deal right now...

He's not leaving the Tigers over money. He's taking a massive pay cut to go to rugby unless it's Japan.

He was offered 1.5 mil for 2 years.

I think initially he'll go to Japan, just hoping he doesn't end up at the Tahs. Don't need him and the money would be better spent elsewhere

I think there is an issue about player insurance in loig. He is getting old, and injury prone, and that sort of thing obviously has a role to play in his decisions.

If I was a wallaby recruiting spy, I'd probably pick up on these players
Greg Inglis (15)
Jarryd Hayne (12)
Jacob Loko (would make an amazing 13)
Epi Taginoa (outstanding back rower)
David Klemmer (would make a great second rower)
Sam and George Burgess (back rowers, although would qualify for England)

Get the Orange Streaker - he can motor for a fat guy. Getting him to wear pants might be a challenge.

From Guardian:

Press reports estimate he ran 140m before being tackled. That puts him 3rd most from a Blue on the night, behind Dugan (171m) and Watmough (141m).

Some good stats for him considering he was only on the pitch for 30 seconds, pity he'll be banned from ANZ now he isn't worth the investment if he can't play in our games there.

He needed to be wearing his long studs. He had a good step to elude one of the council workers but came a gutser over his feet at the business end of his run making it wery easy for the Hi-Vis mob to catch him.

What is it about footballers and their fancy pants boots with moulded blades/short studs?
They keep slipping over.

I was hoping to see the fat bald hairless bloke get a little more involved in the game like Bryan Baenhoff in the Currie Cup.

The rumour in the AFL is that Karmichael Hunt will be leaving AFL and going back to rugby. He is well known in Melbourne. If I was the Rebels I'd be giving him a call.

Rumor in Brisbane is Ben Barba is heading to the broncos and their current fullback Hoffman is looking at his options next year.

Could very well end up wearing 15 for the Reds.

Josh Hoffman... Would surely get a bigger offer from another league club, does he even have a union background?

Karmichael Hunt hasn't exactly had a stellar year in the Afl. And although he holds his own in the comp, he's never going to be a superstar like he was in League.

I think he still has a giant AFL contract for 2014 but perhaps he's looking at Izzy now and wondering about the 2015 World Cup. Maybe the ARU should have a chat to his manager.

Hasn't Karmichael Hunt, through his play in a Heineken Cup Final for Biarritz proved he can lead a team around the field. Remember this was completed whilst having a mid contract nap. Hunt, Izzy and the next league player will be held to a higher standard than same local GPS star. I'm guessing if someone like Jesus crossed codes the majority would ask who he pledged allegiance to when he was 8.

Hunt was OK for Biarritz, not great. Biarritz largely played 9 man rugby, led by the halfback, when Hunt was at 10. You didn't get to see much of what he could do other than tackle like a demon for the simple reason that they didn't really use him.
