I was determined all week not to watch the Rebels game tonight. I’m a massive rugby fan (played hundreds of games and stick up for the code around the water cooler) but I just can’t sit down game after game and watch our teams lose – this year has been the worst I’ve ever seen Australian Super Rugby and I find it so depressing.

So despite my best intentions I watch the second half of the game. ( I was the born in Melbourne so have an interest in the Rebels). From being in quite a good mood I am absolutely livid at going against my instincts and watching a team that was hopelessly outclassed in effort and skill.

What the fuck was that intercept try? Lineouts not straight, missed tackles. Fuck me sideways I’m deadset about to give up – I just find this all so depressing.

Fuck you Rebels. ( and to think they sent a survey around this week).

Very disappointed for the Rebels fans. 3 matches vs kiwis for 3 50 point losses. One good half in 5 games.

As a rugby nation we need to drop this whole inferiority complex towards New Zealand teams. We need to stand up to them, get in their faces and stop being pussys. Start a scrap, put in some big hits and have a good old fashioned dig at them. We are being mentally bullied by the kiwis. Time we started to stand up and be counted, no more excuses, no more backing down, no more of this bullshit narrative we are not good enough. Time to get the media negativity out of the picture too. Fuck all the rumour, fuck all the bullshit from the ARU and SANZAAR, fuck all the fans whinging about depth. Lets earn some fucking respect back. 15 of them 15 of us. Fucken go out there and fucking rip in someone, anyone!

Effort, endeavour, physicality. These should be non-negotiable week in week out. All OZ teams have been guilty of this at stages this year so I'm not just pointing the finger at the Rebels. Our rugby does need to harden the f@rk up though.

NTT I've been a little critical of some of your posts on another tread. But the fact is I can't question your passion, we both see eye to eye on 95% of things and this post sums things up perfectly. Bravo

We are all hurting, I will be cheering all Aussie teams this week, things surely things can't get worse... surely

Im a rambling idiot most of the time but the success of Australian rugby is what i stand for, not how many people like me.

Rugby is a physical game played by hard men. The one who can outlast the other is the winner. Peter Fitzsimons would be embarrassed to see the lack of guts by some of our current crop.
We spend all week convincing ourselves we are inferior. Then we go out there and play inferior and resort to excuses. How often have we seen the Irish beat a more fancied team through sheer mental fortitude? We need to bring back the hard men of rugby and get rid of some of these instagram/Kardashian wannabes.

Just finished watching the game, knew we were in for a struggle with the selection of injured players from last week.

Jordy was not right and would have been rested if there was someone to rest him for.

Snowden looked better than Stirzaker has all year, at least it moved the ball quickly.

It's sad that we are missing all of our best players at once, all backroom staff need to be shown the fucking door tomorrow morning. Especially the S&C team, no more excuses. The fans deserve better then this shit, how can a anybody perform when they don't know what their future holds.

What's worse, the Highlanders certainly did not bring their A-game tonight. Very little ball movement through the hands. A lot of one-out running and a distinct lack of imagination in most of their play. Could have been a whole lot worse.:(:mad:

I know when Damien Hill was coach we used to have a leaky defence (which is what we have now) but at least we used to play entertaining rugby and scored some sensational tries. Which gave the fans something to get excited about. We used to have some skills in attack now we don't even seem to have the most basic skills.

For the first time ever I have tipped all Australian sides playing to lose, and lose comprehensively.

Unless the NZ sides have an absolute 'mare of a game there is just no way our teams are in the same ball park. I'd go so far to say that I doubt the Wallabies would beat the top 3 NZ sides on form. Australian Rugby cannot get much lower in terms of actual play. This year we have a seen a total of 30 minutes of good rugby from all the Australian teams in total. That was the Reds. The rest has been at best average.

The days of me rushing home to watch the Rugby Friday and Saturday nights, changing rosters in the days before I became self employed, all gone now. This weekend I have even organised work which will see me likely to miss the Tahs game and I'm not even concerned enough to record it.

Can I borrow the official term all our coaches use - "its disappointing".

Agreed. I don't think that game will pass muster when we go back to playing the kiwi sides. It's only ever going to work when those bullshit pods break the gain line, easy to do when the defence doesn't move forward. I'm not a fan, especially because the "supporting player" basically flops on either the tackler/tacklee.

Highlanders definitely missing a raft of quality injured players, many of whom are All Blacks. Especially missing Sopoaga. Fekitoa might be the stupidest individual to ever play in the backs but he's too darn powerful/talented to dismiss him.

Also, anyone else think the try to Buckman is absolute bullshit? How the fuck is it fair to play an advantage, let everyone advance 25 metres out, blow your whistle and then let a back run freely to the 5 metre line to tap and go when no one is back there. It's garbage. For someone who played the game Jackson has no fucking feel for the game whatsoever.
