Round 5 : Reds v Force, Suncorp Stadium, 20 March 6.45

Reds attack is scintillating but defence is pretty weak. Force are well in this. Hoping this game turns into an absolute cracker.

Sorry but why? Because the reds pushed up on the loose head side? That’s not a penalty

As referees we are coached to look mostly at the tight head, not the loose head. If the tight head is taking a couple of forward steps then the scrum is likely to be rewarded, as long as he is not deliberately angling in (which is different from the opposition loose head getting driven out)

Bit messy at the moment both sides. Easy yards both sides. Plenty of promise too.

Ok that's one each "not releasing" when I didn't think the jackle had his weight.

So I’ve seen that a few times where the person is tackled then pushed into touch, why isn’t a penalty against Reds because the man is already tackled?
