Also hearing that the are definitely more signings to come. Including one big like 'oooo wow'. Thats not including Cooper.

My theory that they will be targeting Cummins.

Also I think that unless we sign another good centre (atm we only have taefu, DP & Magnay with Kerevi), that they try and move hunt back to 12 and sign a full back with good positional play and rugby nous, to complement the ball running wingers. I'm thinking try to bring in Mogg as a steady, specialist 15. Nothing great but a steady hand, with a good understanding of 15 play and a bit boot.

Berrick Barnes?

Berrick Barnes?

I have heard he wants to restart his international career. Not sure about the reaction from Queensland if he comes back here though. Tahs and Brumbies are other options IMO.

Also have heard that Sita Timani could come back as well, either to the Rebels or Force. All probably a load of bs but let's have fun speculating :)

EDIT: source: the user 'Woldog' on TRF (yes not the best source but don't let the truth get in the way of a good story :))

Now that the Rebels have joined the fight for Quade, barnes might not be a bad option. Having quade on hand to help hodge release weapons naivalu and Korobate (sorry for spelling) would be intoxicating. Let's hope we win though.

Nah. With the wealth of talent available in Queensland you don't need some former kiwi. I'm sure that between McIntire, Paia’aua and Mason you guys will have a competent set of fly half options in 2017 and beyond without him.

I think we'll end up getting Quade. Hopefully he can utilise Nabuli's talents to be a big time ball-running threat, like a poor man's Digby.

9. Frisby 10. Cooper 11. Nabuli 12. Kerevi 13. Magnay 14. ? 15. Hunt

I would put Laolifi in over CFS because he has played better in his matches than CFS has. As for the bench:

21. Gale
22. McIntyre/Paia'aua
23. CFS/Kuridrani

EDIT: added in Paia'aua as a bench option

Feauai-Sautia probably needs to go to Europe soon, he's just not that flash any more. I like the notion of the Honey badger making a return, it would also get some media interest in the Reds too.

Jeez the Honey Badger's quirky self promotion is becoming a little tired

His football ability, however is still there I think.

I'm not really sure if the Honey Badger is the player we need, for the following reasons:

a). we have enough depth at wing and centre
b). he appears to have lost form when I last saw him playing Super Rugby, and he will take time to adjust back to pace.
c). our main priorities at the moment are a new HC, an inside centre and a flyhalf (although QC (Quade Cooper) is pretty much guaranteed to be returning supposedly, according to this post):

But QC (Quade Cooper) is all but a done deal

I thought the eggs were in the Kerevi 12, Magnay 13 basket with Paia'ua and Taefu as backup?

Paia'aua has been pretty exceptional for Norths it seems. With Ant gone (is that immediately?) he seems the logical step up for the remaining Reds matches.

I'd love to see Kerevi steaming on to some QC (Quade Cooper) long balls out wide

1. Slipper
2. Moore
3. Talakai
4. Simmons
5. Douglas
6. Tui
7. Smith
8. Browning
9. Frisby
10. Cooper*
11. Nabuli
12. Paia'aua
13. Kerevi
14. Sautia (flexi contract means he's still around, right?)
15. Hunt

16. Ready
17. Fa'agase
18. Tupou
19. Neville
20. Houston
21. Gale
22. McIntyre
23. Magnay

We will just need to have cover for a few weeks when I assume Tui and Smith as well (perhaps) Quade and CFS may well be finishing off their Japanese commitments.

Pretty close to as good as we can get, I would not select CFS to start.

I would love to see him play up to his talent level but it just is not there. I think the best thing for the Reds would be for CFS and Magnay battling to be in the team.

My big nope is that the new HC can actually coach CFS to be as good as he can be. I think he has pretty much been on the decline since Link left with a small blip playing for Souths last year when he looked like he was having fun. He has immense talent but needs to be motivated the right way. The big challenge is knowing what that way is.
