The Amazing thing about the teams you're naming is that there are very solid players not even in the 23

Gunn, Korcyck, Lukhan Tui, Taefu and Caleb Timu are all really promising players.
The reds have done the best out of any from the NRC, they've really utilised it to develop and find the measure of players. The only holes I can see in the team are a couple of reserve props(don't back fatboy Paraka), and maybe some reliable wingers. Not sure what became of Jarome Mackenzie from Rams but he was lightning quick for them in 2014.

Jarome Mckenzie played for the Country Eagles last year. Picked in the NRC team that played the NZ Heartland.

Sounds like they'll be strong on the THP side if they are playing two on the one side.

Reds reportedly chasing NRL player Valentine Holmes

Seen quite a few highlights from Holmes on my newsfeed the last few weeks.

Quick google search says the bloke is an absolute loose cannon - stood down from that next gen origin camp, involved in a Kings Cross dust-up where he was king hit, issued an infringement notice for an argument with a Cabbie in fortitude valley, has been imposed a midnight curfew and apparently is "not on a booze ban" - which only would have been brought up if it had been considered.

Prodigious talent, seems like a dickhead off the field. New coach will need to keep an eye on him if he comes to the Reds.

Throwing money at a Leaguie winger is surely not high up on the list. Nabuli, Magnay, Ballymore Kid, CFS - No starting Wallabies, but no need to risk hiring an unproven liability.
Surely this is Manager spin to up $$

Is playing Shute Shield atm for Eastwood I think. Has been putting in some solid performances on the wing and fullback if I'm correct.

Has Chris Kurindrani absconded? Haven't heard a word about him the whole super season.

Yeah I'd much rather we invest in the development of a young guy currently in our ranks than Holmes for a couple of reasons. Firstly with a wrap sheet like that I don't think he would be a good fit in the squad. Secondly I have great hopes for him as the future of the Qld Origin team.

Valentine Holmes seems like an unlikely signing. The guy's star is rising massively in the NRL so it would presumably take a big offer to get him across to rugby union.

Can't see it happening nor being worthwhile.

I can't see him being of interest to the Reds. Seems opposite to the culture they are trying to build.

For some reason I'm envisaging that Moore will arrive at the Reds and within a year or two, Ready's long flowing locks will be replaced by baldness.

I reckon Moore was right around the same age when it happened to him!

I hope that you're right Reg, definitely don't want any loose cannons joining the Reds. I'd much rather we worked on developing and retaining young rugby talent than poaching league players, good as they might be.

Mate. Any bloke who chucks his head in the middle of a rugby scrum with both hands effectively behind his back isn't that smart.

Careful there, you don't want to be biting the hand that feeds you
