Last word from me until further developments

Am sure pissing in your pants is not an offence - it's the fact you pull out the big fella in public is the offence.

So the moral of the story is that you just piss your pants and carry on

The Reds site is as boring as batshit.

I look at it most days and there is so little content on the players, training and all the stuff surrounding the group

I don't know how the Reds expect to attract NEW members unless they start to engage with the dirty unwashed masses. The old members must be bored with the site.

The marketing persons (if any left) need a rocket or shown the door. To me it's a terrible failing

Their twitter and facebook are pretty active (I don't really use instagram so haven't looked there).

I think you're looking in the wrong spot if you want fresh content. Most organisations distribute primarily through social media because it is a far more immediate connection with their fans and far easier to add content to.

As you know I am just an old fart who in the last couple of years discovered the internet by mistake.

The place where organisations like the Reds engage with fans and potential fans.

I think you will be increasingly disappointed if you expect websites to be the primary source of current news and updates (outside of news websites).

Yeah, it's just sensible. Going where the attention is.

The fact is, very few people are landing 'on site' nowadays unless they do it via a social channel. So, the Reds are investing in that channel. Simples.

Reds have been pretty active on social media. Just a new way of hitting a larger aduinuace quicker and easier. They post news and information on social media which have link and redirects you to the correct page.
I don't even head the GNGR home page to read news. I follow the lads on twitter And they a post a link of there rugby news, so I don't need to go searching for it. It's easier,.
If you have only discovered the internet, you have cone at a crazy time.
Just one thing, if you get a Facebook account. Don't read to much of what people say on the Reds/Wallabies pages. . Get your rugby info right here at GNGR.

Sidebar related to this topic - whatever CMS the Brumbies have built their 2017 website on doesn't work. I've tried it on laptop/phone and over different browsers. It's terrible.

CMS = centimetres?
I'm with Scrubber 2050.

Content Management System, most websites run one so they can easily and quickly post things without having to delve into coding.

The G&G blog runs on wordpress for example.

That's a whole lot of authority in the front row. Think it might have a message for the game plan the Reds will be adopting?

Moore is the Australian captain and Slipper the Reds captain.

I know they rate Talakai has a real leader (has captained Brisbane City NRC heaps).

Likewise Kerevi, for such a young guy, has shown impressive leadership credentials.

Quade is Quade.

If you wanted to read into it (not sure if you can) but it is a message to Tupou that he's going to have to keep working hard and stepping up his game if he wants to displace one of the team leaders.

Likewise perhaps it's a message to Rob Simmons and Kane Douglas that they need to be wary of the presence of Neville, Tui and Rodda. Lukhan Tui in particularly I expect to feature regularly this year.

Might be a bit of a kick in the teeth for Rob.

Moore and Quade were always going to be a part of the leadership group.

Great to see that Samu is being given that responsibility as well.

Have to admit to being a bit surprised at the elevation of Talakai - Stiles obviously sees the potential so good luck to him

From SMH - there appears no specific issue with Simmo, I think he needs pressure to keep on his game. And then he can be just superb.

"Smith was another who was an obvious candidate for a senior role in the team but he won't have an official title, nor will lock Rob Simmons, the lineout leader who volunteered to take a step back from vice-captaincy given the influx of experience at Ballymore."

I like Slipper as captain over Moore. Expect/hope it will be popular with the fans. Smith not in the leadership group is odd - not expecting a lot of consistent game time?
