Did BB sort out his head injury/concussion issues?

I assumed he went to Japan to get away from the high level intensity of Super rugby and internationals and protect his brain a little.

Would he even want to come back?

Absolute bullshit from the Reds. Crazy that fans cant have their view presented even if it is a critical one. I notice they get sensitive on their Facebook page. Not on Facebook myself but my brother is and he has had comments deleted. Both him and myself pride ourselves on being bold and loyal Reds fans, been through the good times and the bad. Has it got to the stage where you can only be a Reds fan is you surrender your money unconditional love without question? I love the Reds but this has me fucking angry. Fans (the life blood of the franchise) are being treated with contempt and it just isn't on.

You understand fully how I felt for years when I offered genuine heart felt critique on the Tahs. I wasn't dissing them because I wanted to drown them in shit when they were losing. I was critical when Link was the coach and they were making the finals playing that dire % crap. You would think the Qld board would have taken on board the lessons of the near total failure of the Tahs through shite game plans and alienation of the fan base. I don't know if Reds fans have noted that even with the title win last year the Tahs fan base has not recovered. The fact that the quality of play hasn't been maintained at the Tahs is not boding well for them. The Reds re-built from near collapse in spectacular fashion and had a very solid base on which build something which was sustainable over the long term. They are flirting with danger of heading down the Tahs road of destroying the support base by feeding them shit saying all is bright and sunny whilst they are knee deep in flood water and its pissing down rain.

I really don't care how good he is he walked out on us when he was our main man to play for the Waratahs. That's all. End of story. Don't come back.
So he acted like a professional and that is a problem, the days of loyalty to home town people is long gone.

Mate, in my opinion you are the most spot-on Reds poster by quite a way. I agree with almost everything you post. Hats off.

What's he been doing since leaving the Tahs?

He did his ACL again (at the Tahs) and took a year off to get it right away from a professional environment, he is the current Marlin's 10 in Sydney and by all reports has looked a class above. Is still only 24.

He's a good player but I don't know if we need another member of team rehab. If we're going to sign a Lane I'd rather it be his father. Not opposed to uniting them, though.

Tim Lane would be a much better backs coach than Meehan, hands down green and brown. The carrot of luring his son, might make that train of thought even more tactical.

While he'd almost certainly be a better backs coach than Meehan, I think he'd also be a better head coach than Graham and I can't see us signing him in any other role than that one.

It still shows for me but might be because I liked it.

Peter Hynes: Having played for the Reds in previous years, I can honestly say that I won't watch or attend another game until there is significant changes. Sick of the excuses. We have a squad of great players but they simply look poorly coached, no spirit and not playing for each other. Our defence is lacking in structure and commitment. Guess who is in charge of defence? I never comment on any forums like this but it's got to the point where all stakeholders of the game need to voice our opinions and demand change for a once proud rugby team. 35,000- 40,000 attendees for most in games in 2011, and now 13,000 attended the Brumbies game against one of our biggest rivals. I won't part with another dollar of mine or my companies until there is significant changes starting from the top. If I performed at less than 30%, I would not have a job. Rant over.

Hi Floggin,

I just want to clarify that my comments on facebook wasn't intended to publicly critique the Reds but more private feedback from a ex player other wise I would have posted it tagging the Reds. The Reds ATM certainly from a distance look to be going down the same path as 2006/2007 which i was apart of and I hope with all my heart that it doesn't happen again which is the main reason i posted that. I feel its my duty as a ex players to assist (or at least try) so we don't return to those dark days.....anyone remember 92-3. Whether its the admin, players or coaches i dont think it matters at this point as what I'm calling for is change. Whatever we are doing is simply not working. As Ewen used to say, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Thats enough from me as I'm off to watch Game of Thrones :)

I thought this very current article should be posted here in case some have not seen it. QC (Quade Cooper)'s careful references to unclarity re the Reds future coaching situation must be seen as 'interesting' and that he's taken the trouble to go on the record below in the way he has.

What struck me out of that article were two things
  1. He wants to stay.
  2. How far he has come as a man. A genuine role model.
When thinking of the decisions Horwill and Genia have made. Horwill is at the latter part of his career and Genia has just become a father. He is off to do the experience before he has to settle his daughter into her school years. Cooper is a different beast. My worry is not for Cooper but the ARU doing what needs to be done to keep him in Australian Rugby.

I am glad it is out in the public domain. We the fans are speaking but nobody is listening. We don't want to desert the team we love but don't want to be taken for mugs either and a vote with our feet will also cause pain for OUR team. It is a catch 22.

Thank you for putting it out their regardless of your intent.

Yours Truly
Devoted Reds supporter.

Good to see you posting Peter, and i think you would struggle to find a Reds fan who doesn't agree with your comments. 92-3 should never occur again.

Thanks Hynesy for posting. If only some other players had the testicular fortitude to come out publicly and say something then the Reds might actually have a chance of stopping what almost seems unstoppable.
Without pumping your tyres too much, the Reds could do with a rugby brain like yours, maybe put your hand up if they are looking......

Also Game of Thrones was good.
