Yeah I got on that too Emu. Chuck them in with the Lions (paying $3.50) and that's a good value multi right there!!!

Thanks for the heads up on the Lions, Scoey (maybe:)).
I've actually gone for the 7.5 lead by the Lions (paying $5.50).
But hey, no sheep stations involved here. Really just to cover my Reds bet if the unimaginable happens.
And if they both lose? I wonder if Queen Street can support another Basker.

I REALLY do wish that Genia and Cooper would stop remonstrating their own team mates whenever a mistake is made.
Quade isn't too bad, Genia is the worst. Apparently this happens at training regularly towards the younger players.

Not too sure if the current coaching setup is right; hopefully it was just an off night.

Reds' defence in particular was too static, and when it did move it was all disjointed. They were just out enthused by the Waratahs in nearly all facets of play, lineout aside.

Some issues remain in the midfield, too.

Not sure why Quirkie was taken off so early tonight. I thought he was probably our best on the park in the first half. Should have moved him to 8 and taken Shatz off.

Few positives, our back 3 played well, all running strongly. Turner and Toua were one of the few who could hold their heads up.

Gill tackled his guts out, but his attempts at playmaking was horrible. Some shocking hospital passes.

I think a few players, namely Fainga'a (x2), Holmes, Slipper and Shatz need a huge kick up the arse after that performance. Yes the Tahs were very good but we were shit house for the most part.

Next week.

Slipper
Hanson
Holmes
Simmons
Horwill
Quirk
Gill
Shatz
Genia
Cooper
Shipperely
Harris (if fit)
F'Sautia
Turner
Toua

BENCH: Fainga'a, Daley, Owen, McDuling, Browning, Robinson, Frisby, Fainga'a

I think we need more physical impact from the bench. And I think McDuling and Browning offer that.

The lack of depth in attack from the forwards was worrying.

As I said in the game thread, when Slipper was subbed the Tahs noticeably targeted the Reds scrum - that scrum was right in front of me and they obviously held it and went for the second push.

One thing we couldn't work out is why the Reds didn't turn the rucks into a shit fight - Jackson has no clue in that area and made some real puzzlers, or it looked like that from the ground. General Reds fan consensus in our area was that there was some home town reffing from Jackson, resulting in the Reds losing by 3 - 4 tries. We all agreed that if it was at Suncorp they only would've lost by 2 - 3 if they got the hometown decisions!

Probably some Red-tinted glasses there, though!

By the way, a there was a fair number of Reds supported in the crowd.

I really like Toua, every time he gets the ball he makes good ground. Great spped. Hope he gets a full season under his belt.

I think you summed it up on the homepage,it was men against boys. The midfield were no worse than other unit in the side.
Head to head, very few Red men came out on top.
This time.

You gotta be kidding. Beau actually had an impact when he came on and CFS looked fucking shithouse when he did. The bloke should be playing for Reds College next week based on what he offered when he came on. For all this "beast mode" shit people want to bang on about, all I saw was him getting smashed by smaller blokes.

Richard Graham has very big shoes to fill.

I expect more results for the REDS vs TAHS then compared to last week vs Brumbies.

Whilst last night was a pretty horrible encounter for the REDS i'd like to think the performance was more reflective of how much the TAHS have improved in 2014.

Quite frankly Genia can be a fucking sook at times. He seems to always be looking to blame somebody else (like a Tennis brat) when the shit hits the fan on the field.

I've noticed this has been a theme for quite a number of years, especially in losing efforts like last night. Not a good look for a senior member of the team who should be rallying the troops.

For membership to the Graham Lynch Mob send me a PM. Member packs including letters to Carmichael and a mock pitchfork will be sent out soon. Watch this space for an online petition link (there is one for everything else so why not?).

Kidding, someone had to do it.

On another coaching note, I'm wondering how long it will take for the Sydney media to start screaming for Cheika to coach the Wallabies

If for some reason Ewen was unable to coach right now, hard to think of a better candidate than Cheika at the moment. The ARU shouldn't allow it however as he's too important to the Waratahs.

I don't quite understand the mindset of his detractors.
They think Link is the Messiah, but IMO the Reds have slowly deteriorated each year since they won the comp.
Making the top 6 last year was OK cos Link was in charge. If he wasn't there,it would have been tears.People would have pointed out how they struggled to score tries etc etc.
But cos Link was in charge,it was all about clever spoiling tactics and team solidarity etc etc.
It's a bit tough calling for the coach's head after one win and one loss.
