None of the players leaving (Davies, Owen, Toua etc.) are real losses, except maybe Harris.

The core is Genia, Cooper, Horwill, Slipper, Simmons, Gill, Hanson and the Faingaas. Plus the young blokes CFS, Browning.

Losing more than 1 or 2 of these players would be very worrying.

There was an article where they interviewed PAEs brother and he said that while he'd tried to get him to the Reds for the past 2 or 3 years, he'd really settled down here.

Maybe, but he wasn't ready to play for the Reds in the last two years. He is only just becoming a viable super option. I guess we will see how it plays out.

I think Albert Anae still has more to offer, physically he is the perfect build for a prop, technically he seems to be getting there but he hasn't had much game time this year.. Is he injured? He isn't even playing for Sunnybank in this break.

They are if you don't have players to replace them.

And herein lies the issue.

There's plenty of guys in Qld that could be great if they're given a shot, the trouble in when you need to sign up 5 of them in a season in roles where they're likely to see minutes some of them won't cut it and the Reds form will suffer.

From what I can see, and understand. The Reds are just clearing out the players who don't fit into the program anymore. None of these players are leaving by choice in my opinion.

RG obviously has a very big opinion of Aidan, and I very much doubt he will tell him to pack his bags. While we are on that, is he likely to play in the last three games?

So Genia is out now for 8 weeks for ankle surgery, missing the remainder of the S15 season.

I wonder if these injuries to Cooper/Genia are actually a sub-plot so they don't have to put up with RG for the rest of the year... ;)

I assume he did it in his second half appearance in club footy yesterday? Unfortunately, that will just add to the argument against top rep players playing club footy.

Frisby will need to step up. And we might need someone who will be around in 2015 on the bench.

According to the G&GR front page:

Scans late last week confirmed a pre-existing injury to the upper part of his ankle had not healed sufficiently and as a result medical staff from both the Qantas Wallabies and Queensland Reds agreed that surgery would be the best course of action.

Makes you wonder why he played the club game if there was doubt on an injury being healed?
