I thought the same thing on Saturday night.

But gouging is a really serious charge. It's not just innocent until proven guilty but that proof needs to be beyond reasonable doubt.

Here, the player testified he wasn't gouged and the medical evidence supported that view. The video evidence was inconclusive. So on the charge brought, I can't see the adjudicator had any other option.

So its now perfectly OK to mangle someone's face as long as the other player says he wasn't gouged. The supposed evidence from the two players totally over-rode the visual evidence everyone saw. Even for the Sanzar judiciary, that routinely call black as white, that is an absolutely terrible decision.

C'mon, take those glasses off. They are distorting your perception, and it isn't rose coloured.

Maybe try and contain you're outrage to the one thread? The refereeing decisions one is probably the best one. This decision doesn't have a lot to do with the Reds 2014 Season.

But the consequence of this decision means that mangling someone's face in the tackle is not cardable. Next we'll have squirrel holds and chicken wing tackles, where the intent is to dislocate shoulders, and all other sorts of illegal, nasty stuff as OK. And as for the video evidence being inconclusive, anyone could see he tried to mangle his face, moving his fingers in the act of holding his head down. Just didn't dig out his eyes.

Rubbish decision. Again!

With QC (Quade Cooper) now gone for he season RG will be able to play out the excuse of injuries causing the outcome of his coaching season... THAT BEING LAST of any team on the ladder...

Given the large amount of KMs between me and Suncorp I havent bothered to travel to any games this year previous years made the effort on a number of occassons... Foxtel was switched to FTA the other night in sheer protest... (although I seriously cant see me ever getting rid of it simply due to crap coaching @ the reds.. May jump on brumbies or tahs bandwagon for the rest of the season and I too like test cricket and other sports one can only view on Foxtel...)

It is so incredibly obvious to anyone with half a brain that the ARU's financial position is going to be even worse this year as a result of Red's LAST place performance - for no other reason than a recruiting a crappy losing coach with a shocking S15 track record recruited by QRU buddy/s on the board........ FULL STOP.

If you ever played competitive team sport, you'll know that players play for the coach as well. If players don't want a coach, they will not put in, they'll play crap because they know it is the best way to get rid of him.

Pretty clear the RG has lost the players in all this. They want him out.
This seems to be a likely scenario for such an abrupt change in individual and team performance.

If this is the case, let's hope it doesn't drag on as long as the Robbie's Deans era.

Why did we think it was a good idea to sign RG again? All that good work he did at the Force was it?

I'm convinced the Reds heirarchy thought it was the best way to keep Link's legacy of turning the Reds into a successful team intact and keep the culture that he had created.

They had a year's transition period to get everything in place before the handover but it just hasn't worked out.

I think part of the issue was that things were already on a downward path before the end of 2013.

Things have got worse with injuries and seasoned players performing poorly and Richard Graham looks like he doesn't have any answers.

The big question now is whether the Reds management will acknowledge that something has gone really wrong and change is essential or plough on with Graham for 2015 thinking that things will improve.

Wow. Ed is lucky to get off. Higgers must of said he didn't do it in his statement because the footage had him fucked.

The footage didn't have him fucked. One single frame showed that he may have had a case to answer for. As it turned out, this single frame showed the worst of it, and it wasn't a precursor to further contact.

EOD was charged with unsportsmanlike conduct (not, as some think, eye gouging). If that whole ugly incident is considered sportsmanlike conduct by both involved, then we clearly need some new definitions.

Too true Hawko, but like that once great SA coach said "This isn't tiddly winks.."

There have been numerous other occasions where nothing at all happened. Moore on Quirk a few rounds ago as example.

all you reds supporters are overlooking the greater problem with QC (Quade Cooper)'s injury.

how will it effect his left jab ?
