The worrying part for me is that I can't see where the next Reds win is going to come from. This was our best shot for the rest of the year.

Clan (H), Rebels (A), Force (A), Tahs (H).

What has me speechless in disbelief is the ever-deteriorating standards in team and individual player defence - that's essentially why we are losing genuinely close games like Saturday's. Many of the defensive lapses are simply inexcusably poor in either attitude, technique or agility to foresee and make the tackle in time. And that it seemingly cannot be improved at all despite RG saying they're focussing on it. Even the (this year) lowly Cheetahs are improving their defence.

That it is this way highlights the magnitude of the problems within this 2014 Reds team.

Speaking of TV rights you know what I would really like, being able to buy a digital subscription to away games as part of my membership that has nothing to do with the rort that is Foxtel.

Currently I have to use a VPN to make Sanzar think I am in Moscow so I can use their streaming service but it's still a pita.

I don't get why they don't offer members access to these services in their memberships as an extra, I am already paying 2 grand a year for my 2 Ruby memberships I don't want to pay for foxtel just to watch away games on top of that.

On the Stadium attendance it was very clear to see the numbers were way down on Saturday night, it's been 30k roughly all year at home but the drop to 23k was a big hit. Will be interesting to see what the number is next home game.

I love the game and despite how we're travelling the wife loves going as it's a good distraction from our busy work lives and it's kid free :)

Am only a Forever Red member and would never consider dropping it. Goodbye fairweathers, I would like to say the Reds would be better without you but the QRU needs your money.

Don't enjoy doing it (or contemplating it), but as another poster said, it's the only way remaining for the man on the street to make a point.

You think the QRU cares a rats arse about people moaning on a rugby forum? They do however care about money, and the possibility of losing regular contributions.

Doesn't mean I am a fairweather supporter, far from it, just means I think my opinions should be noted since I'm paying for the privilege.

As a protest, not buying memberships is too late. If you want action, start now. As Sandpit Fan has done, send an e-mail now saying you want sign up next year unless action is done.

I wonder how hard it is to start a crowd sourced funding scheme to raise money to buy out the coaches contract?

How much would need to be raised?

God I hope the Reds management were smart enough to put some kind of performance based clause in there that will result in termination.

The only problem with that would be when you are truly destroyed by injuries/poor decisions. This would be unfair to the coach.

I hope the performance based clause would be based on improvement of the players skillsets. On this alone he would be gone. Ball handling and tackling must be lower than previous seasons.

They aren't obligated to enact such clauses though. They are there to protect their own interests.

Improvement in skillsets, etc. is far to subjective and cannot be easily measured.

Baby and Bathwater situation.

If you are to get rid of RG, then who is the alternative?

Whoever that is, they need to be ready for immediate deployment when RG is dismissed.

IMHO, interim or Acting Head Coaches don't work.

Infinitely better to have an Interim Coach along with a well explained (to the fans and media) transparent recruiting process than rushing into a panicky, pressure-driven immediate choice as new HC that by no means may be the very best available candidate if a proper, patient, global search was enacted to seek a short list of elite candidates. Equally, very good coaches in existing positions will not be available off the shelf as instant hires, private dialogues with such coaches takes time and they must be explored along with the 'available now' coaches.

You know, although form and other parameters dictate that this statement should be empty tubthumping, you bastards probably will.;)
Whether the season is marked as a success or not depends on us getting over your boys. Form counts for nothing in this one. There are no other parameters that count, not for this game.
We'll get the job done.

Now Quade out for 16 weeks. Needs surgery on his injured AC joint. Also going for a clean up on his hip.

Should be back mid September.

Pretty big call from SANZAR, finding ed o'donoghue not guilty and removing the red card from his record.
http://www.sanzarrugby.com/superrugby/news/ed-odonoghue-judicial-hearing-outcome/

So its now perfectly OK to mangle someone's face as long as the other player says he wasn't gouged. The supposed evidence from the two players totally over-rode the visual evidence everyone saw. Even for the Sanzar judiciary, that routinely call black as white, that is an absolutely terrible decision.
