Apart from ridiculously blaming the referee for their defeat, certain Queensland Rugby Union officials appear to take delight in denying absolutely everything, including that coach Richard Graham is under threat and that there is division among the group. Can't wait for more denials over the latest information that one powerful Reds player called a team-mate a "dumb Paddy %^&*$" after the loss to the Rebels. The player labelled has lost the respect of numerous squad members, who believes he is more focused on his Wallabies aspirations than on the welfare of his province.

Huh that's obvious Ed but he doesn't have Wallaby aspirations as he's not eligible?

They brought the hearing forward for James so that he may still be able to face the bye this weekend. I obtained some exclusive footage of the SANZAR hearing in their decision making process.

He's probably a swap for O'Connor. Not sure if it's an equal exchange in the personality stakes but JOC (James O'Connor) will be handy (if I'm right).

Hmmm, to be honest he's one of the fringe guys I would have fought to keep on.
I am not upset with this, I think there are better options to replace him. I have always thought apart from goal kicking Harris is not a match winner, he is a very solid player and you don't win matches with a team of solid players.

I am worried that we wont be able to attract a replacement that is an improvement to the team.

Championships have a few of these type of players though. A few more Harris', especially in the backs would probably see us doing a bit better.

Sounds bizarre but he is probably the best 15 on the books.

If there is one position that the 2015 Reds MUST recruit for and possess it's a proper 15. A 15 that can kick well from both feet, that can get decent distances with his kicks, that is fast and can spark deep counter attack based on good vision, etc. Harris was just an adequate stand in 15, just, Turner is not a true 15.

All of these suboptimal choices are but further unjustified reasons why excessive pressure was put on QC (Quade Cooper) to carry the entire attack all season, and pressure of a kind that IMO ultimately took him away from his best core strengths and gradually drained his confidence and poise.

This whole scenario of no proper 15 being either held, developed or recruited for the 2013 and 2014 seasons is another of many reasons I am critical of both Link and RG over these periods. Complacency or timidity gradually took over the building of a side that could win more Titles, versus laurel-resting and PR bragging.

Looking back, a player we greatly miss is Hynes, or his ilk.

He's been our best center this season and without him we've got one specialist 12...who isn't getting played at 12.

In a team that's dis functioning pretty badly Harris has quietly been having one of his best seasons. His play at 12 this year has been better than anything we've had there since 2011 Taps.

Consistently created go-forward (we just let one of our biggest backs go!) from 12 and defended the channel really well in the starts he got there. Head and shoulders above Ant if you compare their starts at 12 this season.

Don't think he'll ever have the pace and he currently doesn't have the kicking out of hand to be a real Super Rugby 15..and the fact that he might just be the best 15 in the Reds squad is a bit of an indictment.

Maybe I am just too harsh on him but this season when I think of Harris I think of dropped ball ( he is not the only serial dropper). He has had a couple of good games but nothing to think will win us games.

Oh, Ant likely staying, that's what happens when you have a baby - you're days out of the loop.

I think that Ant, Taps and Harris are all best at 12.

With the likely loss of Ant, Taps and Harris would've been nice to keep, especially as Harris covers 10, 12, 15 and we are probably losing Lucas too.

Where is Lucas going?

Where is Lucas going?

I would think Lucas would try and head overseas and make some coin? He'd be in his late twenties and so far out of Wallaby contention and at the Reds his role as a utility prevents him from getting any solid minutes in one position as we have better players (when fit) to fill them. I personally think hes a few years past it anyway and has been one of the blokes on a decline since 2011.
