Heard a rumour that Cooper has verbally agreed to go to the Force.

If true, it could get worse and worse for the Reds.

It's all a bit distracting for the team given that 2012 is far from over, however I'm sure that Genia, Cooper and whoever else might leave will want to do their best for the 2012 Reds.

Wait... What???

How the hell are the reds supposed to play the saders this week and remain on the ball??.?

I will just offer up a question that might have some speculative relevance one future day.

Assuming the Genia (and maybe other Reds players) defection discussions have been active with the Force for some time, the question may arise as to the degree to which RG was a participant in them with a Force hat on. If in this scenario RG suddenly changed from Perth advocate to turncoat, was thus announced as the new Reds' coach, his credibility as such with the Reds players he was perhaps once seducing to the Force would be worse than zero.

While after Genia's news, it wont surprise me if Quade does go. But, there isn't much to do on the West coast for a guy like Quade. Hypothetically, if Quade and Will go, how will the Force fit their squad under the salary cap? They've chucked a huge amount at Genia, (then you've got the awesome foursome to pay for) plus Quade who'd want atleast $600K+. You're still short of a decent centre and full-back (who stays fit).

If they have cooper and genia fit and in form they only need good defensive centres and fast wingers to have a potentially great backline. They have those players in position already.

What is the source of disharmony in the Reds camp? They are Super rugby champions so this is all very bizarre. I'm not convinced it's just Graham.

Ioane is off contract this year isn't he? I think the Reds dynasty team went ass up the minute changes started in the coaching/management group. Don't forget the early indications that the Faingaas were looking elsewhere also. Could be some significant holes to fill not just in the starting 15 by across the whole squad.

And they have forwards arguably as good (overall) as the Reds' 2011 ones.

But, as noted elsewhere, the mystery missing ingredient in all this emerging cake is the crucial self-raising flour: the 2013 Force coach.

Whatever is argued anywhere, I am convinced that Mooney then Link and McKay were crucial contributors to Genia's and Cooper's development as players over the 2008-11 period.

But enlarging egos often have declining memories.

Yes I have often posted my belief that Mooney was underated for his impact on the Reds attacking play. I still hope that he will appear somewhere in Oz to assist in that role.

Considering the off field distractions the Reds played pretty well this week.

Did the Reds quote the $600,000 figure in their press release? I just don't see how any club could put that many salary cap dollars behind two players (Pocock too).

I think it must be sporting media hyperbole.

Quade's tweet about Genia's move sounded like he was genuinely surprised, so unsure about this talk of him following him.

Quade Cooper @QuadeCooper
Wowza news in the twitterverse is my lil partner Gary Coleman aka Willie Genia has left the reds to the force....dammmmmmmn that's big

I thought David Pocock's reaction to Brendan Cannon after the game was pretty genuine too. The cat has well and truly slipped out of the bag on this one.

Really? I thought he certainley seemed surprised, but he did not seem caught unawares. I think the Reds just wanted to clear the air, as innuendo about something like this would have been toxic for the 2012 campaign.

No, Digby has re-signed for another 3 years..

I think its getting ahead of the ball to be calling it a sinking ship after one player was persuaded to follow a contract woth potentially 30% more then what the Reds could offer
