Mcmeniman and Mckibbin would make me the happiest man in the south pacific.

Link would give Mat Rogers a go if the Titans don't want him?! God help us.....

Can someone clarrify Paul Warwick? Has he played for Ireland, Ireland A? I think he's played Aussie 7s right?

Yeah he's played for Oz 7s but forget him because Munster won't let him go any more than Clermont would have let Brock James walk.

I heard from some of the Brothers boys that Mckibbin is odds on to return home. It would make alot of sense if as expected the Reds are offering him a senior squad role.

I think Scott Daruda is playing in the same club as Hugh McMeniman since he left Agen in november.

Signed with the tahs for 2 years. Good signing too, he will push Josh Holmes out of the number 2 spot and put a lot of pressure on Burgess.

sweet, Quade recommits for 2 more years, pretty much settles the roster

Cooper's recommitment (court case pending) is excellent news for the Reds. This is the first year since who knows when that none of our genuine top line stars have walked. Simmons should more than cover for Byrnes so Weeks is the biggest loss. Slipper's exposure during the current Test Series and possibly the Spring Tour might sort that out though if he continues to pack on both sides.

precisely, Weeks is the biggest loss, however Deans is doing us a very big favour by blooding slipper at test level, some great exposure there for him.

Now that we seem to have the on-field stuff sorted out, maybe the QRU can have a look at the off-field action too. Watching the "Bundy Red Rugby Series" I can't help but think that the "Bundy Red Cheerleaders" would be a massive improvement on the drumband for next season... This possibly belongs on another thread though.

Things could not be better.

Except for hooker and halfback.

Reds have got young James Hanson whos captaining uni and scoring a try nearly every game as there reserve hooker. I'm sure theres someone coming up through the system to be the 3rd hooker as well.

As for flankers shatz is getting to big to play openside. But quirk and gill are showing a lot of promise in the under-20's which is good to see. The addition of McMenamin and even Vickerman? would go along way to adding depth to the forward pack. I think the reds are one class forward off having a really good team.

In the backs Davies has really come on, as has Morahan. Young Situati is playing some very good rugby in the under 20's and in the 7's side. Add to that Ioane, Hynes and Chambers, with Lucas also playing fullback and we're pretty set for outside backs. I'm surprised the Rebels or Force did'nt make a play for Lucas. He's a very handy player to have.

I rate Luke Morahan VERY, VERY HIGHLY. I fail to understand how he can only grab a bench spot. He is a future star and has impressed me everytime I have seen him play. I've watched him on the 7's circuit and my god is he deadly with a bit of space in front of him.

Aidan Toua is another who I rate highly, but not quite as highly as Morahan. This kid has great feet and good spacial awareness but hasn't really kicked on as I thought he would. If he was a bit bigger in stature, I have no doubt he'd be a Super 14 regular.

Please don't make me laugh Vickerman is 0.01 % chance to go to the Reds.

Vickerman would be a waste of money anyway, by the time he finishes his studies to return to Australia the S15 will be half over, on top of that he hasnt played rugby for 2 years so his going to take a while to get to the conditioning level required.

Reds only have one spot free in the squad now, most likely go to a halfback, however there are no real contenders who spring to mind, except maybe james stannard.

i agree that vickerman is out of the picture at this point and doesn't make much sense, especially if paired with an expectation that he would feature in the wallaby set up. but, would his signing as a potential backup/mentor/role player really be so much different than what was just done to bring samo back? i say no.

i considered the Samo scenario, however the difference between Samo and Vickerman is that Samo had been playing competitive rugby only recently, albeit in Japan.
Vickerman is a incredibly talented player, but you cant ignore the fact that he has been out of 'professional' training and playing for nearly 2 years.
