I was always one who stood by Vaalu, but like has been said already, he never produced the results. It strikes me strange after the departing Latham tagged him a real talent and more then capable of filling his vacant fullback position.

Phil Mooney used to talk about how he was a world beater on the training paddock, but could never translate that to the field.
He will be a very good french winger, on boggy fields with plenty of crash ball. He just isn't quick enough, or agile enough to be an Australian winger. Some players can get around this by have great game nous, and putting themselves in the right position - Brando had none of this.

well hopefully we can fill the gap by the departing Vaaulu with Rod Davies. He's re-signed for 2 years.

Sure we've got Lucas, but not much else. And I really think we need to consider worse case scenario and we lose Quade. Lucas at the moment is probably the only option to do that, so a legitimate back up scrummy is key. Lucas may end up being fullback anyway, who knows?
