The 15,000 isn't actually 15,000 season ticket holders though, is it? (So we can't assume there is going to be bigger crowds just yet - although there is likely to be.)

Seems the number is also made up of a sort of social type membership, that doesn't include actually purchasing tickets. Sort of like the AFL club version of being members.

Yeah you can just pay $50 to be a "supporter" but that doesn't get you any tickets. Good option for those who can't make it to the games or who don't have enough money to commit to season tickets but still want to support the reds

platinum seating might be hard to come by this year.

Does anybody know when the tickets for individual matches are being released?

can you provide any more insight there? That's a very baseless statement.

Be prepared to back it up or its gone.

yeah righto, pretty silly comment. In reference to earlier post about reds not having major sponsor. I wasn't talking about the cmc thing, know nothing of it, just heard that there is still frustration in sub-union land, I had previously thought things were looking up in that regard.

As far as I have heard Slasher, the corporate structure of the QRU has improved quite significantly since this time last year, unfortunately due to bleeding budget, cost cutting was performed across the whole organization, this included grants at grass root level, putting offside many already struggling clubs....

However, no clubs have folded or collapsed, just doing things a little cheaper... Ultimately, if the QRU can turn the budget around, then everyone will be better off on the long term..

Heard one of the usual "poorly run" clubs is essentially insolvent. SSDD whining about funding cuts while not being proactive and getting after it.

Thanks Tranq - he does look handy indeed - hopefully he gets some game time next year

Did anyone get to the Noosa 7's?

Exposure for sure. Aidan was one of the hottest properties in the country a few years ago and through injury and other reasons is now still only in an academy. Pretty smart really.

There is also a video for Ben Tapuai, pretty sure he is signed until 2012 anyway

Hey Reds supporters gear going cheap at the Reds website. 40% off on some items.

$70 off the Jersey's shows how much they've overpriced them.

Im hoping they wont be jerks about the 2011 Jersey's (same with the Wallabies).

Talking about sponsorship, I note that QR National is still shown as a major sponsor on the Reds website. But there is an article in today's SMH which claims that they have dropped the Reds in favour of sponsoring a Central Queensland side in the NRL.

My understanding is QR that was always leaving the Reds sponsorship post-privatisation.

The Reds have some major sponsors in the wings, but are waiting for the sponsors to confirm. The sponsors are waiting for an investigation involving misuse of government funds (or is it more of a misallocation thing?), if my understanding is correct?
