The NSW boys might wear speedos but at least they don't wear bras :)

thats not to say that some of them dont need a bra though...

I don't understand that KB (Kurtley Beale) joke, he neither has pecks nor moobs. Poor fellow.

Yeah I agree no bra required but a girdle wouldn't be out of place. Pic is a few year old as he has lost most of his fat now.

Also heard last night that Ian Prior has been picked up by the Reds Academy. Think it will be good for him and good for the Reds to have another half back around the traps.

Just had a quick look at the draw posted in the other thread.

Would have been nice to have skipped the Bulls or Stormers from the SA conference and the Crusaders from the NZ conference but c'est la vie (we skip the Highlanders and the Sharks instead).

We don't travel out of Australia until round 7 when we face the Lions in SA. It's better facing them first up on a SA tour than the Stormers or Bulls I think.

The week after that we've got the Stormers in SA, then come home and play the Bulls on the Sat night. That could be tough.

Apart from the Oz teams, we're hosting the Cheetahs, the Bulls, the Blues and the Crusaders. We play the Lions, Stormers, Hurricanes and Chiefs away.

Seems like a decent result overall. Pleased to be playing the Bulls and Crusaders at home. Stormers and Hurricanes away will be tough. A bye after the SA trip would have been perfect, but no such luck.

Seems like the season will really be dictated by how well we step up against the other Oz provinces: those games will account for 2/3rd of all our games for the season.

Overall, really looking forward to having a longer season and more games in our timezone.

Who does everyone want to see step as the new major sponsor now that QR has pulled the pin? Surely discussions must be fairly well advanced with a few other companies around town?

And what's this story today about heading back to Ballymore. Surely a beat up to try an get a good deal at Suncorp. How can you aim to get 15,000 members if you're planning to play in a stadium that doesn't hold many more than that?

no way they'll go back to Ballymore, as you say, they couldn't fit 15000 members in. It's a bargaining tool as they're in 'final' negotiations with Suncorp.

Couldn't care who sponsors the Reds, just as long as they get decent money. They are in an interesting position. About 75% of their sponsorships are up now and they couldn't be in a better position to re-negotiate. But its going to be a lot of hard work.

I hate going to Ballymore to watch a game, Suncorp is the best Rugby staduim I've ever been at & it's well serviced by public transport.

Hopefully someone with shedloads of money & a man crush on Hugh McMeniman.

HSBC. The Tahs tried to steal Jets so I think we should go for their major sponsor. :lmao:

Does Virgin still sponsor the Reds?

I would be keen for most games to be at Suncorp but if you are playing the Lions then Ballymore on a Sunday arvo might be a bit of a novelty.

I found this rather interesting, but then again, statistics and money is my day job..

yep, I picked up that document yesterday. It's pretty damn professional. As I said about 75% of their sponsors are up this year so they need to go all out to re-sign them or get new ones. It's the perfect time to do it I'd think.

exactly noddy, ive said this a few times now, but the Reds are in a very good position to negotiate new sponsorships, aside from the 'good will' feeling towards the Reds in Brisbane at the moment, there is also the expanded Super Rugby series which stands to have Australian teams on australian prime time tv twice as much as in previous season, not to mention the potential of the Melbourne market opening up.
