Humphies might be out injured from the Rebels with a fractured finger.. But like Chief mentioned, Horwill is expected back and so is Radiki Samo, so plenty of options.

Hynes surgery went well as well, he isnt expected to have a prolonged stint on the sidelines but still no date is set.

Samo to sign a new 2 year contract? Sounds very odd.

Daley to the Brumbies?

Turner to the force?

All mooted, except for the Samo thing...??

Brumbies were impressed by Daley man-handling 'supposedly' one of australias best scrummagers last weekend.. I doubt he would leave

Digby is a tough one, all his family is in Melbourne, and it would seem he is very family orientated..

But Samo re-signing is odd, maybe his a positive influence from a experience perspective at training..
Im very interested to see him play in 2011 after all the talk of how he has been training.

It is a terribly written article. I couldn't believe that it made it past the editor.

The Ioane move was flagged in the forum between three and six months ago, so its not a surprise. Some of the other forecasts are new, I haven't seen the Turner one before, so that's a bit of a surprise. I'd doubt he'd have any reason to leave because I would guess he's on the maximum Super contract plus an ARU top-up.

The Brumbies chasing Daley is weird. They've got Palmer, Australia's best scrummaging prop at tight head; Alexander, a poor scrummager at loose head but moving to tight head next year with Palmer going to the bench; Maafu, a poor to sometimes so-so scrummager at tight head; Jerry Y, a LHP with very good potential due back from injury in a few weeks and now they want Daley; currently Australia's worst scrummaging LHP but pretty good in the loose. The absence of a clear succession plan is puzzling, it looks chaotic. (Cue comments re this being the norm at the Ponies).

I think I'll just go and have a little lie down, my head hurts.

Veteran second-rower Radike Samo is poised to sign a new two-year deal with the Reds. Samo will turn 35 in July, but he has been a strong contributor to the Reds since joining late last season.

doing what?

Not sure that anyone deserves to be dropped after such a big win. Rotation might be a good thing to rest a couple of guys with niggles ahead of theSA road trip, but the Cheetahs shouldn't be underestimated.

Agree on all fronts. This looks like the strongest line-up to me and will make Ioane a happy camper as he views himself as a 13 and has said as much.

I agree, don't think we need to rotate players. Best on the field each week. As we have, there will be injuries (Hynes, Horwill, Humphries) that allow the 'fringe players' (Lucas, AWH, Samo) their shot. There will also be team changes based on performance, ala Benny Taps and Beau Robinson. Keep them all fighting for position so that when they do get a shot, they are ready all guns blazing. I hear Jake Schatz is jumping at the bit to get a run now he's fit.

Hanson may be quality, but IMO he hasn't displayed enough to trump Fainga'a yet, it doesn't make sense to swap the two, if anything Link could start giving Hanson more game time, in the event that Hanson gets injured, they are legally allowed to bring Fainga'a back on.

Likewise with starting Harris at 15, yeah Lucas didn't have a massive game, but in the preceding two weeks he had one of the highest tackle counts in the team, what has Harris displayed that warrants him starting at 15 over Lucas.. Harris's 2 tries on the weekend were from the centre/5/8 position.

I think some people need to remember that its the whole aim of the bench to come on and capitalise on the tiring defence

Horwill won't be back next weekend.

I would also keep the team the same. Taps nowhere near as bad as what some are saying just didn't get many chances. Needs to run at 12 a few times in attack to see what he has got, however wouldn't be surprised to see Harris a 12 by the end if the season. A backline of the following would be very exciting:

9 genia
10 cooper
11 morahan or tooua
12 Harris
13 ioane
14 Davies
15 hynes

Thought he mentioned that it was likely he would come back for the sa trip on the rugby club. Might have got that wrong though.

Saia Fainga'a says Reds forwards must man up

Fainga'a said the Queensland squad was capable of scaling the man mountains from across the Indian Ocean, and had taken a lot of confidence from a successful tour of South Africa last year when the young Reds forwards came of age.

"The South African sides are a lot bigger, so we really need to man up," Fainga'a said.

"We have to choose our pack wisely, and the good thing with this year is that we have a lot more depth in key positions.

"The season is a lot longer than normal, so you need that depth anyway, but it will definitely come in handy against the South Africans.

"We have definitely learned a lot from last year, but we are still learning, still building our game and still building into our season."
